Long Range Public Shooting range in Arkansas

Hi. I just got an H&R 45-70 and once I get some reloads made up I'd like to try my hand at Long Range, 500yds, shooting. Not looking for competition just fun shooting. Would be nice if the range had either some steel gongs or steel targets set up. Thanks

You should talk to "goodsteel" and see if he knows of a place. I'm not sure where you are, but in the couple of years I lived in Arkansas I wasn't ever at a range that had that type of distance. I do seem to remember one of the guys at the range I used to go to telling me about a longer distance range and I think he said it was somewhere around Hot Springs. You might also check the Arkansas Game and Fish website and see if they have a range like you are wanting. Good luck.
