    Proof is in the Pudding...

Figured you fellers would like to see some good, not great, but very good targets from my February 2005 Military Bolt Match. They were shot with a rack grade 03A3 and LCNM brass with 30-180-SP, Hdy GC, sized .310, lubed with FWFL, over 23.0 N120 and a Rem 9 1/2 primer. Brass was many time fired and neck sized with Lee collect die. Boolits were seated to barely engrave. btw, I won the match with a 297/300 - 10X.

Sundog, You need to look for one of the "old style" 30-180-SPs or even a 30-150-SP. The 30-180-SP looks like the old Louverin 311467 and both are great shooters in the 06.

You'll ocassionally see one of the oldies on the "Bay"./beagle

Were the targets shot from a bench or another position?

Yup, hunert yards, and shot from the bench. One of the neat things about this match is we charge ONLY five bucks to play and you shoot just about any rack grade, unmodified, military bolt gun in its original 'as issued' configuration. No equipment races. Over the years that we have been shooting this match I have also shot some comparable targets with the Ly 311291 and IMR 4227. Can't always do it, so when you put a string together like this it's worth hanging on the wall for a spell to centemplate over. I've very seldom shoot groups below two inches, smallest being 1.6, so they get saved also. I guess the point of this is that in this venue, cast will do as well, or BETTER, than jacketed. Some of the fellers shoot milsurp ammo and get absolutely pounded with recoil. To me, that's not very much fun, and it also detracts from shooting good targets. sundog
