Oreo sent me the following reply. I am thinking that I will move forward with the .401 spec mold.

    "Hey there GrumpyGramps,
I am the honcho for the group buy. Regarding your request for the larger size, I believe the .401" spec will be cut at .4015" and maybe even a tad bigger. Would that be sufficient? Is the .401" size a deal breaker for you?

I reduced the caliber spec by a thousandth for this production run in an effort to get molds that drop closer to my original spec of 403 (with lube groove.) MiHec cuts cavities big and I'm trying to compensate for that. Since MiHec is the one cutting the molds I'm in no position to guarantee what the result will be but I thought you should know why it is what it is. You can always lap a mold out a thousandth but a mold cut too big will always be that way, and .404"gg/.403"pc is too big for most folks, I think."

Thanks GrumpyGramps. I was just ready to post that.

My goal is .4025"gg / .4015"pc dropped from the mold, but asking MiHec to hold tolerance to a ten-thousandth is crazy. I originally drew the spec. large not knowing what to expect from MiHec. I figured I'd over-compensate a little on the big side just in case. I now know MiHec consistently cuts on the outside edge of the spec for the same reasons. We don't need he and I both over-compensating that dimension.

    * GrumpyGramps, don't forget to post your (disguised) email so I can get your order recorded properly.

Ok, I feel naked. I've recently paid for my most recent mold from Miha, and do not have any others pending. So,,,,,
    I'm in for this one.

I'll do option #2, the 190/180 grn, no lube groove, (dedicated for PC) cut to .401. All pins.

Ok, I just got a new Glock 20 in 10mm. I want it to be my woods gun and for hunting deer to 140 lbs and hogs to over 300 lbs. Any suggestion from those who have used it on whether I should get the 190gr or 220gr? It is the age old question of mass vs velocity.
I did read most of the other threads about this mold and the most compelling evidence was at around 200 gr. Not an option here.
    Thanks.

Well, this 220gr, is a little shorter then most 220gr cast boolit designs which gives a little more case capacity which, in theory, gives a slight edge in velocity over other designs. This is the first time a 220gr has been offered in this design, so there is no direct evidence for or against. We can only extrapolate from what we know of other 220gr designs.

The 190gr is popular, but I think I'd give the 220gr a go here. Later, if you decide you don't like the 220gr you could have the mold milled down .060" and you'd have the 200gr. The cost to have that done is maybe $50 or less from Eric at hollowpointmolds.com
