Can the Star sizers be opened up like folks do with the Lee push through sizer dies? Just wondering if they could in case I wound up with one a bit too small or something instead of having to spend another $+-50 bux on a new one.

Yeah you can polish them out to larger sizes
Don't like being hammered by the Cast Boolits Staff, then don't be a nail.
The rules are simple to follow.
Send it to Latehsmith and Chris open it up. That way it will be concentric. I think he charged me ten bucks to open one up. IMHO it's better to spend ten bucks on him doing it, rather than having one out of round and be out the full cost of the die.
It is really not that big a deal or difficult to open up a Star or Magma sizing die. I used a 1/4' steel rod wrapped with polishing cloth wrapped tightly, moving the drill in and out, with the variable speed drill on a low setting. Mine came out perfect for my .30-06. It needed to be a little larger, like .3105 to .3110 for cast boolits. As long as you don't halt the in-and-out movement you are not going to create a "worn-out" area somewhere in the middle of the sizing die. In fact, if the crocus cloth is relatively wide, as I did mine, you can't create such a wear area. The worry is needless. Big Boomer
