    Got my Christmas present!

Wife got me a LEE turret press got it set up and like it so far. not a progressive but I really don't shoot that much anymore, it is faster than the S_S i have been loading on for years. Need to Tweek it just a hair and will be set. At my age it will out last me by a long shot.

Good on Ya !! ... welcome to this version of the "Red" crowd ...
Have been using the Classic cast turret these last few years and find it fills all my needs and wants with it's versatility ...

Nice wife! And nice press. I rather like the turret press. I've just fitted an Autodisk powder thingy to mine, a highly practical addition. Merry Christmas.

I really like my Lee Classic Cast Turret with autodisc powder measure for 9mm and 223. I don't use the auto indexing stem. Bigger rifle stuff is done on a Lyman Spartan. Wish my wife thought about such things! Flyer

Nice Present! Like mine a lot. Remove the index rod (takes just a few seconds) and it becomes a single stage press. But a single stage press that has all the dies already set on the disk for the next step. Can't beat that even with a stick.

Congrats on your turret! I use one for my pistol cartridges and love it. It puts out plenty for The amount that I shoot. What I love best is the quick change over to another caliber with the use of the turret plates. Over time, I have added them so I can quickly change and it sure save on set-up time. You'll really enjoy yours - have fun with it and have a Merry Christmas!

It's always nice to get a new toy. Congrats on the press and a wife that supports the madness! Any of the LEE equipment that I own or have owned has always performed well. I have been toying with the idea of getting a used Loadmaster or Pro 100 to mess with. My wife forgot that our Amazon account is hooked to my email. As soon as she ordered my gifts I got the email confirmation. I checked it thinking it was an update on some of the gifts we ordered for the kids. Well, it looks like I'm getting a couple of Hornady seating dies and some Bianchi .38 speed strips. SWEET!

Yeah it's pretty funny. She figured it out yesterday after I knew for about a week. She felt bad. I told her it was OK, I get most of my enjoyment watching the kids open their stuff and just hangin' with them for the day. I did ask her if that was everything she got and she said no. I am hoping for an Ergo handle from Inline Fabrication for my LNL AP.

Those ergo handles are awesome. I have one for my XL650. I also have an ultramount with the quick change baseplate so I can quickly change to the press I want to work with.

    Freightman,
Every man should be so lucky to have a wife that supports their hobbies. Good press.

After reading the above I looked up Ergo handles - what a great idea! I can do that, I thought, so it was off to the steel shop for some 1/2" rod, fired up the forge and started bending. Bit of trial and error, but I reckon it will work. I was going to make a fancy handle with ball bearings (!) until I realised it wasn't necessary. A hardwood handle, heavily waxed around the centre spindle should work fine. I've cleaned the fire-scale off and will probably Parkerize it as a finish. That's tomorrow's job.
