    I stumbled across some vintage 35 caliber Speer "half jackets" on GB today

    Not sure what these would be useful for?

    Typically they are used for bullet swaging.

    they are for squeezing up into 9mm or 357 bullets.
    I use a NOE 140gr 8mm T/L mold for my cores.
    but you can make round nose, swc, etc shapes, depending on the nose punch you use.

    And Speer used to make a half jacketed SWC bullet that used that jacket or similar. I found the 146 gr. JHP version to be a great bullet in 357 magnum.
