I am about to order a NOE HP mold and wondered how well they work? How do the HP pins get out of the way when you open the mold to drop the bullets?

I suggest going to the NOE website and taking a look they have a how to section , and to be honest I have had some issues with them but its all user error, I did send molds back to them and they replaced everything so what can I say, you mess up , they will do what it takes to make it better. I mean within reason, they just cant fix molds I break for 0.
So you will get a top notch mold and a top notch customer service, and by all means read the directions. My mistake was not lubbing the pins and having them way too cold.
Mine work wonderfully. I have found that shorter, steeper-pointed HP pins will release easier, and if you keep that in mind while selecting pins, you'll do well.
I was casting some of the 315-115 FN RG2's yesterday without any issues.
It is important that you get & keep the pins hot. If they are not kept hot, you will not get good fill out.
I preheat the mould first on a single burner electric hot plate, set on medium-high, while the pot is coming up to temp.(710 degrees) and cast at a steady rhythm. A slow count of 5 after pouring & then the sprue is cut, boolits are dropped. This is what I have found works for me.

I have the NOE 358-115 rf in 4 cavity with hollow point pins and I have no problems with it at all. It molds as well as the other NOE molds that I have which means really well.
I have used the HP pins with it from the start and as long as I preheat the mold and pins properly I have no issues at all.
It is without doubt the easiest hollow point mold to use that I have ever handled.
The last time I used it, I cast 540 boolits with it in an hour. There were less than 10 rejects during the entire run.
Buying an NOE mold is never a mistake.
Read those two and you ought have enough info to get started. I love my NOE's and almost always get them in RG.

JWFilips has a great point.... most used NOE and MP molds do sell for about 20±% less than new if lightly used..... so with the 20% discount up front, it's a win-win!

they work fantastic! I really like them, and yes keep the pins hot.
I got my very first hollow point mold from NOE on the recent group buy for NOE RF 360230 RG. My first casts were perfect and I haven't had a problem. I pre-heated my new mold on a hot plate setting the pins on the platen. The mold was heated up through the pins. I like NOE's pin system.
I still don't know what "RG" means, though.
I have three of there hallow point molds, and love them, I do use mold release from midway on them and lay them on top of the lead pot to warm up pin side down to warm up while the lead heats up.

Seeing how everyone has their own language when it comes to molds can someone please tell me what RG means with NOE Molds? I think RD is Ranch Dog designs?
Never mind I found it" removable guide"

Looking for a Hensly &Gibbs #258 any thing from a two cavity to a 10cavityI found a new one from a member here
RG is NOE's nomenclature for hollow point molds.
If you have problems with the bullets hanging on the hollow point pin, just use a bit of mould release on the part that makes the hollow point.
