I started sizing 30 carbine brass.
I found my new LEE carbide 30 carbine sizer does not like crimped primers at all! Every crimped primer pushes the decapping stem up, so every spent crimped primer I have to get the brass hammer on the LEE decapping stem to deprime the spent crimped primer.

These are some really old 30 carbine brass. I remember Dad buying this brass when I was around 10 years old, 50 years later those crimped primers are a son of gun! haha

Cast ~500 452460's with a Lyman 4 cavity mold. I forgot how heavy they can get after a hundred plus fills.

About two more casting sessions and I'll have enough boolits to last me a couple of years.

Threw 50 worn out 8x57 commercial cases in the scrap bucket. Made up 50 more from once fired LC 30-06. They should last forever shooting cast in them. Band sawed the initial length, annealed, full length sized, trimmed to length, tested in chamber. Then loaded them with the last of my 170g PBFN and Unique - real light "pop" loads.
Resized 100 45-70 cases and threw them in the vibratory polisher. Reloaded 30 previously prepped ones with 405g PB and Buffalo Rifle.
Installed a 3-way trimmer/chamfer head on the RCBS trimmer in anticipation of reloading a bajillion 223 cases. And to wrap up, on the workbench I re-crowned the 88 Commission rifle's barrel. It has shot OK for being dinged up, so never worried about cleaning it up before.
Then on to domestic duties after 1100.

Continuing the learning curve on reloading the 410 shotgun shells. I am slowly getting to the point where I can get shells that look almost as good as factory. james

Yesterday I loaded 10 pcs of 7.65 Longue for my new to me SACM 1935A pistol. New Starline brass, 85 gr Sierra JSP bullets normally for 7.62 Tokarev / 7.63 Mauser, and Unique. Test fired today and the rounds functioned and were near POA at 25 yds. Used a set of special-run Lee dies for the 7.65 Longue that I was fortunate to find.

I paper patched some .446 dia boolets for my 4570 pedersoli sharps. Now to locate some 4570 brass...scarce like hens teeth around these parts.

Maybe you have tried this source. My kin in Alberta have gotten several hard to find items from them.

Order of SS chips came in, so ran them alone most of the day. They looked clean in the bag but the water was filthy black when I poured it out.

Loaded some 410 shell with a mixture of 8 and 8 1/2 lead shot just to play with my new 410 XRing survival kit. It laods really decent shell if you take your time and prep the hulls right.

I have seen those! Your experience has been positive? I have had a Lee Loader for a few decades and enjoy using that from time to time.

I opened my last 8lb jug of Universal and loaded some 158 grain swc from hoosier bullets over 6 grains of powder. I hadn't used Universal in 357 before. It was a pleasant load to shoot. The hodgdon data center says 6.2 will get 1,247 fps. I didn't set up the chrono since I was only shooting a handful of rounds today. I hope Universal becomes available again.

Picked up an old arbor press and made it into a bullet sizer using upside down Lee dies. The ram accepted 1/2" x 13 bolts so I turned bolts down to make the top punch. Seated gas checks and sized about 200 - .30 bullets for my better halfs 30-30.

30-30 Winchester and Sierra Match King aren’t usually in the same sentence, but I’m curious so here we go. We’ll see what’s what at longer range before the clover gets too high!
I also put together some experimental .410 shotgun shells that will remain unknown unless they work really well

Picked up 2 rcbs lube sizers, 1 older black Saeco sizer at auction. One rcbs is brand new in box. So got the sonic cleaner fired up and cleaned the 2 used ones of old lube. Will probably unload the new one, I think 5 is more than I need.

I put my 22 TCM brass in the tumbler. It’s the brass that I converted from .223 brass over the last couple of days……… cut down, anneal, chamfer, 1/2 size in a 22 Jet die, run through the 22 TCM sizing die, trim to 1.025”, chamfer again, sonic clean, dry and polish in the tumbler. Yes it’s a bit of work but 22 TCM brass isn’t very available right now.

    Busy day reloading:
    - 100pcs 6.5x55 for my 1902 m/96 Carl Gustaf
    - 1016pcs 45acp. Mostly H&N 200gr TC, but also a couple of hundred of my own cast HG68s.

Hornady Lock´n´load AP press works great, all pistol ammo loaded with it. Rifle rounds I loaded on single station press.
Filling that primer tube is PITA. Do those commercial automatic primer tube fillers work?
I´v tried to design and 3D print tool but seems it needs motor for vibration.

I set up my new Lee APP!
Since Midway offers birthday pricing on various items in their catalog, I took advantage of such on a couple items to speed up my case prep(and eventually cast bullet sizing as well). I must say: the FW-Arms decapping die is a treat to use! The Lee universal decapping die came with my APP Deluxe kit, but the fit and finish of the FWA unit is far and beyond what Lee makes in that included depriming setup.

Now to find a powered case feeder for it, and another for feeding cast boolits for sizing. Suggestions?

    -Dan

In the last week, it's been 3 dozen plus boxes of 12 gauge trap/sporting clays loads and almost the same number of 3/4 oz. 20 gauge skeet loads.

With what's already on the bench in 20 and 12, plus the 16, 28 and 410 loads holding the bench down, should make it through most of the summer.

Time to switch back to the Square Deal B for 45 ACP loads.

Then it's on to the 30 Carbine.

If the 204 Ruger doesn't get in the way.

I've seen comments that "personal vibrators" provide enough "jiggle" to make the homemade primer fillers work. Seems I even saw a youtube video demonstrating the concept.

Having neither primer filling gizmos nor "bullet" vibrators to try I can't attest to how well it would work.
