    You aren't using .308 boolits?

Was kinda wondering the same, I'm using
    .309 casts.

I've met a couple guys that were using something like a .300 projectile on their 300 Blackout loads. I suggested trying a .308-.309 diameter something. Both guys had better luck with the .308's.

I think the narrow Boolit would give him the key holing

Mind if I ask what weights you're casting Efin?
    (I need to get a mould(s) for 300 BO)

It's not a GC boolit, but it's got a BT so the gas check works great, I'd read some were doing it, so I figured I'd try, I'll powder coat a few as well as tumble lube for testing.

    Efin...have you read about the Hornady 110gr VMAX's in a 300BO?
From what I've heard, it's similar to the urban defense loads...downright nasty on something with blood or a watermelon.

What did you do in the reloading room today?

    I've loaded the 93's, 110's, 125's, 130's, 147', 150, 168, 175, 200, and 208's in several different 300BO rifles.
But I haven't loaded any boolits YET.
Are you having any probs with leading?

(I'm gearing up for powder coating for this)

I've read a bunch of things and will definitely try a few as I go. Those 123FP's were my first testers for the first go around in the new 300BO, they're my 30-30 plated plinkers, loading issues for sure as they are short and the FP's didn't help

    That makes sense.

My first go on Boolits in the 300BO, and another reason I'm checking the gas checks

110 Hornadys shoot mighty fine, but I want to make my own start to finish. I definitely need some moulds for super and sub shooting in the BO. I just figured sub boolits would be a better starting point.

I think you're dead on with the 230g with a gascheck.

I've also wondered if it'd be better to get a BO barrel for one of my piston uppers to lessen leading...or just go with regular gas system.

My first reloads for the 300BO were with I4198 and I4227, liked the 4198 better as the 300BO is a 16", and I'm in Kalifornia, so no suppression... And that's OK, someday I'll be out of the K state...

I don't know if a piston operation upper would have any difference in leading, BUT having another 300 blackout can't be a bad thing

Cast and gas checked some 300 blackout and .44 cal boolits, powder coated all the 44's and tried some pc with the 300s too, which even worked with them lying on the side since they obviously flopped being placed in the oven.

It was! Gave'em an SS tumble then neck sized, primed, and charged. I'll finish then up tomorrow.
I tried the Lee Mold's for the 480 Ruger, 325gr and the 400gr. Both cast out of WW, not sized and coated in 45/45/10 tumble lube.
Shooting was done at about 300yds
The 325 gave super poor accuracy! Minute of barn!
The 400 was a lot better, on par with the 500's I usually use.
