Packed up a box, took a call, packed another box. Sized and trimmed some 30-06 and loaded with 15gr ETR7 ~ 170 and 220gr GC Boolits to test out.

I cast about 6-7 lbs of rifle bullets.

Slow going on my Lee Bator 6 banger. I haven't been able to get this mold hot enough for the bullets to drop out. I have to pry at least half of them out with a pic. The 7mm soupcans jump out of the mold when I get it just hot enough to get the bullets frosty. I might have to look into some kind of mold lube/release for the Bator.

I learned two new tricks. Sawdust plus acetone for cleaning molds. It "abrades" away the burned on crud off without scratching the aluminum or leaving fibers. Blow out with the compressor.

And I needed some lube for my sprue plates. I rubbed a chip of my solid Alox/beeswax tumble lube on the plates, and they ran silky smooth. Closing the sprue plate on the 6 banger was just a matter of tilting the mold 45 degrees and watching it shut itself. This is the first time I ever cast this much without any lead catching on the sprue plate at some point.

Sorted the brass I picked up from range day. Ended up with 1/2 a coffee can full of .223/5.56 brass and I don't even own anything in that caliber, will try to trade it or maybe just buy a 5.56 rifle, hate to see good brass go to waste. Need clean some firearms next.

Just finished depriming 2.5 gal of 223 Mil. It's tumbling now in citric acid and dawn. It'll be dry by morning so I can swage the primer crimps, and size in RCBS X die.

I made a red oak base for the cast base on my Hornady powder measure. Now it is portable and I plan to use the reclaimed real estate to mount the Mec 600 back on the bench.

gloob: I am interested in following your progress with the Lee Bator 6 banger. I have one and cast a quart jar fill of them and only had to strike the handle nut lightly to get some stubborn (1or2) out each time. I have done nothing to the mold except keep it squeeky clean. Now getting the gas checks on is another story.

Deprimed and sonic cleaned a bucket of LC 223 I got from my BIL. Picked up a set of Hornady dies for this caliber. I don't have an unloader in this caliber!

Cast another day 400 45acp boolits. Also started the sorting on 40ish lbs of mixed brass I was given.

Walked into mine after not being in it for a couple months (been on 7/12's for two months).
Had some rat poison doctored up with peanut butter and bacon grease in a tray on the floor, I have found if you soften the pellets up they will eat it instead of storing it.
Found a pile of hair with a tail hanging out of it and cleaned it up.

Cleaned up a little, tested the replacement pot in the Pro-Melt. (Post 942 above.) YEA!- no drips for the first time in a long time. Cast about 600 boolits, a mix of RCBS 45-250-FN, Lyman .40 175 gr. TC and Lee 358-158-RF; about 600 total with no spout freezes due to leaks.

Nice day in the reloading room!

Walked in there to get something, wasn't there. Probably not going shooting tomorrow due to rain so I bet I'll get some loading done tomorrow between loads of laundry.
