I cooked up my first batch of Ben's Red lube. it's cooling now.
I have mixed up BLL and have used it on my pistol boolits with good results. I have started to do more cast boolit loading in my 7.62x54R. The BLL does ok at low velocity but I want to try higher. The Ben's Red was the next step.

Finished prepping a small batch of .300 BLK brass, started on a large batch of 7.62 Tokarev. Goal is to have mostly ready brass and bullets if not loaded rounds when the sillyness ends. Just added two new calibers this week, waiting on a Midway order to crack into prep.

Thats a great score! Being retired, I actually find that I enjoy sorting weights. And brass. Sure, it gets tiring sometimes. I sit in the shop door surrounded by several buckets and sip on a beer and listen to the radio as I sort them.

As far as smelting goes, I have a few buddies that are willing to help. Usually they have something of their own to melt, but usually at least one of them is available to help me. It goes a lot faster with 2 guys. It helps that we are all retired!

Sat down in my thinking chair and thought. As I looked around I placed price tags on my life long way of living. (Shooting sports and hunting) If this governor does not open up the state soon I will loose everything I have worked to get my entire life. Sorry for the bummer post.

Hope you can hang in there. If possible take advantage of the small business programs that are being offered. Better than someone else who’s gonna waste it.

Loaded 100 rounds of 45acp and primed lots more. Lube/sized a butter tub of Lee TC 0.451". Sure love the Lee gang mold.
Went for a walk to stretch out, and came to the gunsmith shop. Had to stop for a chat and browse. Found a brick of CCI 400 so took it home after paying the price.
Sharpened two chainsaws getting ready for tomorrow. Being retired, I try to get a couple hours of bucking wood at the farm and bring it home. Even ran the log splitter nearly an hour. About 3 cords home so far with a huge white oak to buck. It's been on the ground a week, drying a little with the leaves sucking out the moisture.
Being retired is sure nice. Our club range is declared "essential" as 7 different LEO units train there. Me too.

Started the long process of converting 12 5 gallon buckets of wheel weights into ingots. Got two buckets sorted and smelted in about 6 hours. I just upgraded my pot size so I’m having to learn where to set my gas regulator all over again.

Cast a pile of 432-640s then 432 Penta Hammers until I ran out of alloy. Mixed 180 lbs of 96/3/1 alloy and cast 5 lb ingots.

    Thanks!

Most of my life has been figuring how to make a living in the woods. There have been tight spots but something has always come through. Bad times aren't bulletproof, they can only last so long. Best of Luck!
