I glued 2, 1/2" X 6" poplar boards together, then just laid out the spacing I wanted. Drilled the holes with a 5/8" Forstner bit. Sanded and sprayed on a few coats of varathane.

Cast a pot of MP 311-235 hp's with some new pins. Made some longer ones. Boolits ended up at 225 with these... about double the length of the standards supplied with the mold. Hoping they shoot ok. Need to sort tomorrow. Probably by weight... kina hard to see in the hp's.

Will do. Just lacking a little in the test medium department. No newsprint or phone books around the past several years and nobody with gel on the friends list.... maybe this is the excuse to get my own gel block?

I had 1lb of Sport Pistol powder sitting around that I hadnt opened yet. So on Friday I loaded up a few test rounds for a few different calibers and bullets. Some loads of jacketed bullets and a some loads of coated lead bullets. Each bullet type got one load at a low starting charge weight and one at halfway between the starting charge and max charge weight from the books.

    9mm: 115gn (2 different bullet types) and 124gn (2 bullet types)
    40S&W: 155gn, 180gn (3 bullet types)
    38spl/357mag: 125gn (3 bullet types), 158gn (2 bullet types)

So a total of 26 different loads...10 cartridges per load.

On Sunday I was going to chrono all of them but it was so windy that I was worried that the chrono would get blown over by the wind. So test firing will have to wait until another day.

With the snow storm hitting I tried out my modified case annealer with the hopper added and annealed 500 6.5 Swede cases. It went fast enough that I was done in under an hour.

Ran a couple hundred Lee C312-185-1R through a NOE .312 sizer, and put some of Sage's aluminum checks on them.

These will be for the Finn M39.

This was my first time using them and I don’t think I will ever go back! They make great looking ingots and the large surface area helps them cool quickly. My only complaint is that they are a touch difficult to flip back over after dumping out the ingots if you don’t have something small to slide under the tab. I’m working on a handle design that would make them a lot easier to move around. All in all I would give them a 9.5/10 and highly recommend them.

I use a pair of Channel loc pliers to handle my Lyman style molds. My arm and wrist get tired after about half of a day doing it that way. I guess I should spring for the cost of buying a pair of Vicegrip pliers for each mold.
