My friend called and said he has Sandhill Cranes so I removed the riot barrel and laser from my 870 and put the mag plug and 28” barrel on. They taste so good. AND we can use lead shot so I pushed that steel aside for some heavy lead shells! I ignored that H&R .32 that I need to tear into....

I just finished sorting all of last years range brass by caliber and started depriming them. I hope to finish depriming them tomorrow. We have rain forecast for the end of the week and I hope to start tumbling them then.

As we just had a sewage line put in and there is an overabundance of sticky red clay between the house and the shed, I'll just keep from tracking and clay into either the house or the shed. I may have to buy a few bags of dirt to cover some of the red clay and hope by spring that the grass will start to grow over in.

And we're expected to get heavy rains this weekend.......

CWlongshot I saw your bullets , good job. What OAL will you use. The Lyman manual states a 2.730 OAL with the 323470 bullet . That seems to be seated short. I loaded a no primer inert powderless cartridge with the bullet seated out and chambered it until it stopped at the rifling at 2.826 OAL in my Yugo Mauser 8 MM with camming the bolt closed and ejecting the inert round. Yes the powder charge I am using is not as large as what I would use for jacketed factory type loads with another powder. I am familure with reduced charges in rifles. But I wonder why the short 2.730 OAL Lyman states to use . Im thinking it may be because of different throat and leade dimensions in different types of 8mm Mauser rifles so that's why Lyman settled on the 2.730 OAL for a safety factor.

NO ! I will not load any 8 mm Mauser rounds for my rifle at 2.826 as that would be a OAL length that is too long for my rifle, I will shoot what I have loaded at 2.730 and see how accurate they are and go from there. Every rifle has different manufacturing dimensions and that why OAL lengths and powder charges are worked up to be safe for all rifles with loading manuals such as Lyman's and that's what handloader's should stay with for safe handloads

Decapped/primed about 500 10mm and 100 40 S&W. The "about" was I had 483 WLP primers in my garage and so I primed those cases... Then I though, I'll just go up and get another box of primers and do 25 more to make sure that the NEXT time, I have 75 primers in the garage. As an even(ish) number, right?

Loaded up a bunch of test dummies for the 327 in a single seven using 5 different cast bullets I have on hand. Two are gonna be no good and three are hopefully gonna be awesome! Only wish more where plain based. Dont really need a GC. Ill try them with and without. Maybe I get lucky. (All are powder coated)

Put together 200 rounds of ammo for my 38/357 revolvers. 50 rounds each of some experiments. I really expect all of them to shoot well, but you never know until you pull the trigger.

I prepped 100 327 Federal cases. Sized deburred flaired and primed.

Then loaded them with BLUE DOT. Starting @ 6.5 stopping @ 9. One tenth grain jumps per five.

Humidity was at 40% this afternoon so I powder coated about 500 9mm 130 grain boolits. Humidity doesn't generally get this low down here in Florida and boy did they look good. Flag colors, bacon grease, zombie green, John Deere green and yellow, and a mixture of Flame Red and Black. Great day all around.

Finished up the last 250 40 S&Ws for the 3 gun match Sunday.

    Gonna be a busy weekend:
Saturday is a steel match and Sunday is a 3 gun match -- gonna go unload all the stuff I've done in the reloading room!

I cast my first boolits in 45 years or so. Just a test run to help season the molds, but enough to throw fuel on the fire. Click image for larger version.
