Not much today, feeling kind of wimpy. Probably resize and tumble some 357 cases that someone left on my back porch. Most of my non-reloading buddies save stuff for me, and drop it off. Either brass or various forms of lead. Plan to cast tomorrow, hope I perk up some.

Recent events have made me think about telling my club to go shove it. So last night in the reloading room I decided to go to the range at 430 this morning. I mined the first bunker. Got five half 5 gal buckets. Now I have them sitting in the reloading room getting sorted. So that is where I will be tomorrow during the rain.

Cast some more 00 buck. Then cast a small amount of 000. I wanted to cast a large amount of #4 but found the mounting screw holes were not aligned. If you mounted the mold blocks separately the blocks do not line up.

Cleaning five 5gal buckets of range scrap. Lots of dirt and rock. Spread it 3inches thick in shallow totes and set it by the wood stove. Hour later sort out the rock and junk from the lead.

Thanks! I thought it looks similar to a 50-70 but a little shorter maybe.

Cleaned up a couple hundred LC 5.56 cases and converted a hundred FC .223 cases to 7TCU and loaded those. Not a real productive day, but at least I got something done.

determined that a Uberti Lightning does not like the Lee RNFP bullets when loading.

by switching to a clone of Colt's original shaped bullet they load fine.

Re-sifted range scrap. Cleaned a new mould. Set up the new set of dies on the press. Put on some 3d printed parts I got from another member. (22/45)

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't reached my "Expiry" date!

Right now, taking a little break from sorting a tub of range brass. Probably decap and tumble some of them over the weekend. I cast maybe 1000 44 SWC's last Wednesday and I'm hoping that another session will get me enough to load the batch of brass that I have primed. I'm dying to try out the new to me Star sizer that I recently bought.

loaded up 100 .45 Colt rounds with a different bullet shape. Uberti Lightning is very unforgiving of bullet shape when loading through the gate

    we'll see tomorrow

I cast a few hundred 200 gr swc bullets to try in my new Glock 21. Powdercoated and sized them and they are now ready to be loaded.

Went out and picked up boolits shot into the snow banks. They finally melted away and the boolits were just laying on the ground.

I noticed a difference between PC'd boolits and non PC'd though. The NOE 45-230 grain HPs shot from a 45 ACP. The ones not PC'd were more likely to expand. I had some 45 ACP JHP's that didn't do very good expanding either. But it was easy to tell the PC'd boolits didn't expand compared to non PC'd. (same alloy and load)
Oh great, another thread that makes me spend money.

Snow might have been harder at the time of shooting.

    De-primed/sized 750 45 Auto cases.

Filled three empty rear sight dovetails with Skinner dovetail plugs (two Henry 45-70, a H010 and H010CC and a 1960 built M94 in 32 Special).

Yeah, loading room is also the gun room...just gotta be careful!
