Cleaned and prepped my 9mm Largo cases after emptying every load I had for my Destroyers through my new Star Super to see what fed and shot well, which was everything (even WFNs). Started working on my containers of 38 Special since it is about time to load some more wadcutters.

Loaded another 300 rounds of .223 before work then pulled a bit more range lead out of the berm at the range after work. Need to get to the dang place earlier so that I can have light longer.

Nice, had my 69 cal 1842 out last weekend.

What do you use for patch, powder and charge. What diameter ball ? I'm using thick cotton jersey and an old Lyman mold that drops at 67.5 or a hair larger. I'm using pyridex RS and 70 grains. We had a 40 & 80 yard target up. 40 was easy, 80 was 2/3's

2/3 on the target at 80 yards is admirable with that punkin chunker! Compliments. I use the Lyman .662 mold and load paper cartridges with 4 drams FFg as per the Ordnance manual of 1851. this is pure military loading from the cartridge box, no lube no patch, I suspect you're doing much better patching. The advantage of paper cartridges is rate of fire, my record is 3 rounds in 51 seconds and I've been outdone by youth!

Nice! 3 per minute is fantastic. I can get one off and be reloaded in the time you can pop 3!

4 drams, dang.. 110grains if my math is right. Probably good that you are using .662 @ that charge. Must be a real shoulder thumper.

Just cut down some 223 brass and formed it into 300blk then loaded it up and tried it out in a rifle I built a couple of weeks ago.
110gr Nosler over 15gr 2400. Can't believe it all works.

Picked up 2,000 CB1114-12 wads for a great price. Loaded 100 shot shells and 10 Lyman 525 gn Slugs using Fiber wads instead of Gas seals (the ones I have are almost gone and no longer made) to see if I can maintain accuracy. Ordered another 1,000 Winchester once fired AA Hulls. Trimmed a doz .38 Special down to .38 Short Colt to mock up some loads. For a guy who got started loading 9mm, I'm becoming addicted to shotgun loading. Eyeballing a Russian Savrog mold to try out. I mean, I already have 200 slugs loaded. But this is a NEW slug mold. lol

Nose sized , Gas Checked, then base sized some RCBS 165Sil, RCBS 200Sil, Lyman 311644 and NOE 311290 boolits. Going to Powder Coat them and load tomorrow. Weather permitting, plan on doing some shooting middle of next week.

Loaded another 50 Shot Shells and 10 Lyman Slugs with the Fiber Wads for Testing. Then I ripped off 350 .223-61 Elvis .223.

Not a bad start considering I worked till noon before I could come home and get started.

Loaded 50 rounds of reduced load 38 Special with 158gr. LSWC for the missus. Saw I was getting low on the SWCs and the temp was fairly warm for this time of year, so I went out & cast about 5-600 more. While the pot was hot, I also cast approx. 500+ 124gr. 2Rs & 500+ 124gr. TCs. Not a bad few hours spent...

Tonight is sort cases by headstamp, & tumble clean some brass. Maybe load some 45 ACP too.

Tomorrow is supposed to be our last bit of warm weather before the temps dip to normal again, so I think I will cast some 230's for the 45 & maybe some pure lead slugs for the shotgun.

How is that CFE BLK, Jeff? I've been pretty happy with 2400 under 110gr Nosler Varmeddon's so far and have not tried a different powder having a couple of kegs of 2400 to use up.

Don't know yet, unfortunately. I've yet to fire any.

I can tell you this, though. CFE BLK is a very fine ball. It leaks from my Lee Perfect Powder Measure just like AA #9 does. Hodgdon's load data indicates 22.5-23.7 grains with the 110gr V-Max with even the starting load being compressed. They're not kidding. I loaded these up at 23.0 grains and I honestly don't think I could have fit much more than that in the cases. I had maybe 1/8" of space below the case mouth. These things were compressed enough that it was actually making me nervous.

Those little Z-Maxes do look pretty cool though.

Started up a Frankford Arsenal rotary tumbler with SS pins that I got on sale from Cabelas. Drum is reasonable design but it seems to turn faster than the optimum 28 to 32 rpm for that size drum. It still does a reasonable job but could do better.
