Did you flip a press over just for sizing? That looks genius.

Loaded some step loads for 223 to make up some 22 mag or less loads but I don't think I can get there the 225-37 NOE ...........

Knocked out some loads that should be subs in the 1895 .......... Not having much luck with that ..........
Super heavy weights didn't work out in the Colts rifle any better so I don't guess I should be surprised .
It's 95° now so maybe when the sun gets behind the hill I'll go try these . I'd hate to have a load get stale .

    Busy day for me.

    - Decapped and wet tumbled 550+ pieces of 308 brass.
    - Sized 1,500 pieces of 300 Blackout and wet tumbled half of 'em.
    - Sorted half of a 5 gallon bucket of brass that I bought. LOTS of 44 SPL/Mag in there.

Spent a lot of time working with the the Lee 358-158-RF mold I used making the ugly boolits. The mold release was cleaned out of the mold and then I scrubbed it with Dawn and hot water followed by a final cleaning with lacquer thinner to remove the remaining bits of mold release. I went over the edges of the troublesome cavities that prompted me to use the mold release to begin with. I found a few burrs and scraped them off. The mold still needs a whack or two on the hinge bolt at times but it's much better. I slowed the pace, lowered the melt temperature and went from the ugliest boolits I think I've ever cast to nice ones.

Learned that I loaded up a way too hard of a boolit with trailboss after watching loads of bacon.

Gonna use my 7.5BH batch that was so pose to be 16:1 to cast up some more devistators to use instead of the current 14.3BH boolits.

I bet these hard guys penetrate!

Do you load them base up or down? The ones I made several years ago I loaded base down. I was surprised how well they shot and penetrated.

These HP's have their cavities filled with silicone white caulk to act as penetrator tips, non clogging HP's...

I might have to try that!

Wouldn't you think the hard HP would cause more trauma trying to tear through soft flesh?

I keep think of slapping my mouth with the flat part of my hand and hearing a pop and multiplying it by a thousand.

Maybe I'll superglue a airsoft BB like originally planed.

The other thought I had was like the movie "the bear" where one of the hunters made an "x" with a knife, I believe it was a 35 Rem, to get it to expand quicker. I would think that would make a harder boolit fragment with similar results as a nosler partition.

BTW...how many more posts till I get my 1st boolit?

Just casted 10lbs of devistators with a BH of 7.5 and found out my new replacement mold is leaking around the HP pin area like the last one.

Purty! Any chance the melt and mold are too hot reducing the viscosity of the alloy too much?

Mold could be too hot. I let it sit on my Coleman burner to stay warm and heat my pin between casts.

I thought if my lead or mold was too hot the boolits would be frosted which none are.

Well, not exactly today, but I finished it off today, 56 pounds of 9mm brass run through my roll sizer, and it is not automated. Worst part it's not my brass, belongs to a reloading buddy of mine.
