Changed over the LNL AP press over to 357 mag for the first time, as was up by Calebla's on Thursday and they had the #6 shellplate that also fits 7.62x39. Got 2 lbs of H4198 and 2k primers, also. I have been using my Lee turret for 357 but am looking forward to the LNL. Will have time to load some tomorrow while listening to the Packers on the radio. Loaded up 10 tonight, 5 with a bullseye load and 5 with titegroup and will shoot them tomorrow morning when out loading wood in the back 40.

Started in the morning sizing 250 158 gr for the 38 while the pot was heating up. Cast 500 of the same. Didn't plan that many but the mold was working well so I dust kept going. While waiting for the refill of lead to get to temp. I did a S&B of 350. New at this and thought it was a good day.

Changed out a power steering pump on my wifes Pilot. Powder coated and baked 100 9mm boolits. Attempted to resize some Lake City 5.56 brass to .222 with no luck, just cant seem to get any without wrinkles on the shoulder.

    All before 10AM.

    RedRiver,
Take you sizing die and clean the insides with alcohol.
Use a small bit of Imperial sizing wax on the casings.
On the first and maybe 2nd and 3rd casing, run the handle up
a bit and then retract and turn the case and run the handle up more
and then retract and turn the case and so on till the casing is fully sized.
    Now your die is seasoned
If you start to get wrinkles, then you are using too much lube.

Might also consider annealing the neck and shoulder before sizing. Remember, you're moving the shoulder back and that works the brass pretty good. Also remember that military brass is usually a little thicker than commercial.

Thanks guys. Got lots of brass including commercial, was just trying again. I've been using my grandpas old brass from the 60s and 70s for the .222, figured I'd try making some newer stuff just in case the 50 year old brass ever craps out. Haha. God only knows how many times he reloaded them.

I think you're wise to stock up. One more thing about using the 223 brass, once you get it resized successfully, you might have to neck ream to get the neck wall thickness uniform. Good luck!

    Melted down some raw lead

Been real nice weather here for a while so I melted a bunch of medical lead containers. (I really don't do this in the reloading room, outside on the patio.)

Which mold? What have you settled on for loading? Looks like the NOE mold I use.

What did you do in the reloading room today?

Pulled the LAM parts out of the #2 oil, I ran out of kerosene, and cleaned them all up. Fired off an email to RCBS about which parts I need after determining which parts are missing or damaged.

This one was in real rough shape. All the bullet ejection parts were rubbed bare. Why people feel the need to put pliers on knurled parts is beyond me. The ram has big score marks in it but it should still work. I didn't ask for one of them so I'm hoping it will work properly. Now it's a waiting game. First for a reply from RCBS and then the shipping of the parts

I would wager, that if you sent in the entire press, it would be returned completely rehabilitated.
