Just as soon as the rain stops I'll do more powder coating and casting. Hoping tomorrow.

Wasn't today, it was yesterday. I've been having a terrible time getting my 308 to shoot cast bullet's well. Just a hitch as I closed the bolt. Checked the bedding and it needed bedding. First time I've fooled with this rifle since I got it. Well got it all rebedded and same problem, huh! So i took one back out after chambering it and looked at it. Little tell tail nic's left by the lands. Went home and fixed that problem and now the thing shoot's a lot better. I should have caught that much sooner. Good side, I shot some powder coated bullet's and about an equal number of tumble lube bullet's. No leading of any kind with either method! What I have noticed about the PC bullet's is the black had faded from shiny black to a dull black. And the nose of the bullet's still had shiny lead spots where I'd pink them up to bake them. Not so sure I'll keep PCing bullet's now. Long process that give's a nice bullet out of the oven but fade with time. Someone wrote that putting a clear coat on them last, PC clear I assume, keep's them shinny? They really do work very well, even if they get ugly! But then tumble lube is working as well. Take's less time and they don't get ugly!

I'm thinking this 308 is going to be a dedicated cast bullet gun. Going to hunt deer with it this year, first time hunting big game ever. Taking along my 30-06 with the same bullet's as a back up gun.

loading up some 40 cal for testing today, ~160 gr NOE RN design over 5gr of hp-38. Only a handful and ready to visit the range for testing purposes. First time I've used the turret press in a few months, even with the press completely clean the spent primers still bounced all over the place .

If you don't have one of these installed then spent primers will go everywhere.

Deprimed ,tumbled and resized about 500 pieces of mixed 223/556 brass

Too hot to do any smelting or casting, about another month or so to cooler weather.

Looking real sweet there. Wish I had more brass just so I could justify buying one of those units!!!!! Maybe if I start rounding up more brass by Christmas I will have enough to give me a good reason to get one, I really like your setup.

About a week ago I bought 1300 pieces of brass (223/556) and have been real busy getting them cleaned, the tumbler has been going a lot, and also spending time getting them sized and then on to the primer pockets. Then the real fun starts. Fall baseball with my two grandsons fits in here and there; priorities you know.

Spent yesterday up at the range, so today sorted some fired brass and just finished pulling apart some junk ammo for the components. Time to head upstairs for a fresh cup of coffee!
I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't reached my "Expiry" date!

Not much to do in the loading room, have some cases that need emptying but should have some empty brass to process by this time tomorrow.
Nice setup, Reverend Al. Been thinking about that machine for awhile now.

Discovered a mouse, or mice, had gotten into the bag of winter rye seed. Had a massive mess under the air compressor. They left little "black presents" everywhere. Found out they got into the seed when looking for some caulk on the second floor. Opened up a drawer and found they were using it as a storage area for the seed. My fault for not throwing the seed away last fall. But as of last week they hadn't gotten into it. Luckily they didn't make a mess in the reloading tool cabinets.
