I don't think the 30-06 is a hard kicking round but I'm old enough now that my shoulders ache most of the time so I want to save them for as long as possible while shooting a favorite rifle.
I got to the range today with my 30-06 and those reduced 150 grain bullet loads. I only shot 7 rounds. They all went into a 1.5 inch group between 2 and 3 inches high at 100 yards. I couldn't see any need for further testing. This was the result I was hoping for.

You got the same result I did except I sighted mine to be inch & half high at 100. Enjoy!

Found a forgotten stash of 220 gr Herters jacketed soft nose, .30 cal. Nothing to do then but load them over some IMR 4350 for the '06.

W/ how long it took I thought there were a lot more at the bottom of the bucket. The King of Fans was doing a terrific job of keeping me, and the mold, cool

if those are 9mm truncated cones it appears we use the exact same baking tray for our dump spot! I have no need to cast anymore...but a desire so I think I will try out that #68 mp mold today.

Didn't really "do" anything in the reloading room other than order a new mold; NOE 460-405-RF RG2 cavity GC Brass for my new 45-70

What did you do in the reloading room today?

At least you were able to look in the room. I'm relegated to looking at pictures of mine on my phone

Sorting brass, I scrounged up one 5 gallon bucket of .223 I call that bucket Hillary, another bucket I call Congress is almost full. Running it through the polisher while sorting out the reman stuff from the 1x fired military and commercial. Putting gas checks on the .224 70 grain pills that will go inside that brass while the polisher does its thing.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Fell months behind in processing spent pistol brass. Spent most of Sunday decapping, and called in sick on Monday to tumble several loads. Though I burnt motor on my tumbler once. Now I have to sort a giant pile of Luger, Makarov and 380 into separate piles.
    I'll never fall behind again...

Saturday, loaded a 3 step 9 round confirmation ladder for the new 222 brass . A real treat as I rarely if ever have new brass .
    Sunday , loaded a NOE 225-55 @ 63 gr in 90 brand new 222 brass and 9 1x . Cast and culled 15# of NOE 225-55 and 279-124 .
Monday, loaded the last 50 finished NOE 225-55 in 223 cases. Dug out modified Darrs lube, .2257 push through sizer die and 22 GCs . Found it was getting late .

Tonight I lubed and checked about 100 fresh 225-55s . Less than 1/4 of what was cast even after culls .

Well, it wasn't today, but over the last week or so I've taken a trip down memory lane with a MEC 600 Jr that was gifted to me a while back by the widow of an old friend from church... When I was fresh out of college (40+ years ago) he introduced me to loading for the 20 gauge with this very press! Now I've gathered up about 500 once-fired AA hulls and the appropriate ClayBuster wads and dug out some 30 year old Win 209s, Green Dot powder and #9 shot and with just a little tweaking on the die adjustments I'm turning out near-factory quality reloads. The 600 Jr is the most basic, non-progressive press MEC makes. Simple is good!

I loaded a set of test loads for my 223. 5 different bullets and 3 different powders. I am going to find out what it likes the best.
