Too windy + questionable weather forecast today -> me casting, sizing, and lubing a small pile of LBT ~470gr. FP (truncated cone), but plain base* CB's for my .45-70 Marlin #336. Those CB's are scary accurate @ 100 yd. too, but are deadly at both ends with heavy loads!

*Originally 1 cavity was cut with a gas check shank, but after a few rounds of 1,300 - 1,350fps in such a light rifle, I decided a GC wasn't necessary and sent the mold back to Veral Smith to remove that feature. He did and both cavities drop equally accurate CB's.

Set up the Dillon swager to do military 223's. Goal is to have 2000 sized, swaged, trimmed and chamfered by fall.
Someday i will get a Dillon Power Trimmer.....but $400 is slowing me down.

I ran about 150 Lyman 452374 boolits through my Lyman 45 sizer this morning. I had cast the boolits a couple of days ago but hadn't gotten the 45 set up for them yet. they feed Like pouring water through a funnel in my 1911 and shoot pretty accurately.
I also loaded up 50 rounds of Lee 230TC for the 45ACP. I am going to try those in the same gun and see how they feed.

Yesterday I lost 2 hours looking for my lost keys until we found them in my wife's pants pocket. Didnt get the pot on. Tonight I had one hour of light so dumped about 20 good 311-119s. Couldnt get the pot and the mold right. REALLY wanted to get some 358311 cast but light failed before everything was right. Got two partials and two cast, neither of them properly filled out. Tomorrow I'm headed straight for the pot ....

Can't wait to shoot them. They weight about 163 grains.

    Now that looks awesome!

I found a box of 9mm that I had promised to a security guard here at the hospital. He thinks lead bullets will cause leading. I haven't had any in several years......

I had surgery on my right(strong side) elbow a week ago, & have been trying to shoot & reload one handed with my weak ( left) side. It is quite the experience.
Been going slowly & methodically so far. I have , along with the missus, shot some .38 sp & .22 (semi auto) then citrus cleaned & tumbled about 150+ 38sp. cases, de-primed them & now am working on trying to chamfer the mouths & clean primer pockets before priming, powder measuring & seating boolits. Everything is slow & sure, and enjoying it even though it is at a snails pace.

I started a thread about a week ago, asking for tips on this type of thing & have been getting some pretty good help from some of the members here. That is very helpful & very cool for them to try to help out. I try to thank them each for the help , as without their input I would be just winging it along. The hints & tips/advice is making a kind of a bummer situation into a more enjoyable adventure for me.

Typing is a hassle, but I am working on that too.

Gonna go work on those cases again in a lil while. Just taking a break now. I keep trying to use my right hand absent- mindedly & it is taxing to not be able to use it &so I have to stop to take a break to rest a bit so I don't overdo things right now. Slow & easy, right?

P.s. - If ya feel like want to help out... Weak side- One handed Reloading & Shooting tips - Anyone? Please do!

The more you cast the healthier you are? Health-o-meter, I like. Sand those ribs down in the mag to get the heavies to feed well or get some lancer mags. Grmps - what is your shoot-n-see recipe?
    Whatever!

Processing military brass is for the birds! Was working on a batch of 1,200 308 a couple of weeks ago. Hating every minute of it. Then the thought occurred to me "Why am I doing this when I already have 5-7K pieces ready to load"? I threw it all in a box and taped it shut. LOL
