Pulled the scopes off of 2 rifles that I'm fixing to sell. Dug around some in the safe reorganizing things.

First day off in awhile. Gas checked 1000 22s with sages aluminum gas checks. Seem to hang up a bit more than the Hornadys, requiring an already lubed boolit to run through the Star more often to lube the throat of the die. Bought some Sages copper checks too. Lubed 1000 9mm, loaded 200 9mm. Then quit and seeded the backyard before the rain started.

Does PC float to the top of the lead pot and then skim it and toss it? I'm new to PC and haven't melted any yet......

It does float initially and then ends up burning off.

A buddy of mine makes stands for steel plates. I'm going to buy two of them and his new stands are what he calls "experimental".
I've seen the prototype and it is as solid as you get...

Anyway, we are going "test" and shoot various calibers going up to full tilt 44 mag. Assuming it doesn't fall over and die, we'll back up a ways and then I'll see if we can't get the target stand to fall over and die with these (loaded 40 this evening):

Tore down and cleaned a break top 38 S&W I inherited from my father in-law ,I think it is a model 2 but don't know enough about them to be sure.
Anyway after cleaning all the the crud out of it it locks up tight now , a few pits in the bore but good rifling ,most of the nickel is gone , but it looks like it would be safe to shoot.

I have a S&W Lemonsqueezer (similar to Mod 2) I inherited years ago. As long as you check them over very thoroughly you should be fine. Mine had very tight lockup and nothing was loose once cleaned.

Do be very careful though cause they did have a high rate of critical failure. If in doubt, have a professional gunsmith (if you arenít one yourself) look it over.

Thanks for the advice , I am a shade tree parts replacer/cleaner not a gun Smith
The cylinder was not locking before cleaning but now all locks up tight seems to function really well.
I don't know if I will ever shoot it. I don't have 38 s&w dies but who knows I may get bored and get the stuff to load a few rounds for it.

Smelted down wheel weights into about 30lbs of ingots. I have probably 60lbs of weight left to go.

They weren't ready for me at the machine shop till noon so I continued removing fluorescent lights and replacing the with harbor freight LED's, love those lights, $19.99.
Want to BUY Hollywood Turret all steel model
Left hawg weighed 405 and the right one 315. 315 had my elderly neighbors grand daughter up a tree which is why I got the call. Both charged me, one from 20' and the other from 40'. Thanks to the good Lord and Samuel Colt I won.
