Decided I wasn't going to have enough reloading to do over winter if I wasn't careful. I ended up taking part of a semi-nice day and casting quite a bit. Around 700 Lee 358 SWC 105s and 1300ish Lee 9mm LRNs. Need to get em powder coated now. Probably going to be in the marked soon since my supply of HF Red is almost done. Probably the best $6 I ever spent in terms of casting if not reloading.

I also loaded up 3 primer tubes so I'm probably ready to burn some IMR PB up. I want to do a few boxes of sorted brass and see how accuracy is. Using my Powder Cop I noticed that there's a real considerable difference in some brands of brass (Aguilla notably) compared to others. Not really a concern at milder loads but towards the top of the scale......

Looks like it worked out nicely! Ive seen a Mod 70 Featherweight on Armslist here in STL and have been mulling it over. Its a perfect sibling to my 70 Shadow in 270win.

I wasn’t looking for it, but I found my hand loading log book that I started 5 years ago..... I’ve got some guns to add and loads to write down.

Good news was I went by the LGS and they had some more stuff. I scored a Uniflow for $10 with a broken hopper! Off to call RCBS for it. Seems like an extremely well built measure. Hopefully it works well.

The bad news was I also bent the piece of wire the primer arm on my LNL AP goes into. *grumble* I guess I'm calling Hornady too this week. This thing is definitely the weakness of the press.

I loaded some .45 ACP up with tweaks from today's range session. Just a hair shorter and I bet I get a clean shoot out of the stuff. I shot off some .45 ACP and .38 Special as well. Both shot excellently. I don't get why IMR stopped making PB except maybe price. It seemed like a clean burning powder with a nice recoil characteristic.

Powder coated a few hundred 40s - need to powder coat a few hundred more. After that, I need to cast some more - I love shooting 10mm...

Went to the lathe and turned myself a primer alignment tool for the LNL AP. Polished and deburred on the shuttle some. Also sorted some brass out by headstamp for 243 and re-packaged it. Then I took some 5.56 brass that was trimmed and primed and stuck it in a case gauge to see how sizing looked. I definitely need to start loading some up I probably only have 200ish 55gr bullets left though which means I need to grab some more bullets. I probably have the rest of the components.

Loaded up some re sized Lyman Gould Express 330 HP’s for use in my 460 Bushmaster Bolt.
Seated in top of 30g of 5744. This gets me 1600 fps. Any slower and accuracy goes to pot.

    Sorted 25 lb of range brass purchased from bikerbeans. 80% 9x19, 5% .40 S&W, more .380 APC than I expected. Some .223, .45 ACP, .38/.357, 4 pieces of 10mm auto, 1 .25APC, 2 .32 APC, and several .32 S&W long.

Man was this stuff dirty. Yes I'll do it again. Swaging the 9mm & .40 into jwords.

Very VERY new to casting, so go easy fellas haha

Tried my hand at casting some 340 and 500gr LEE .459 bullets for my 458 SOCOM. I got the 340 mold down I believe, but the 500gr is giving me fits still

I had 64 time hardened boolits for my 10mm - loaded them today for the match Saturday. That gives me 164... Should be enough.

I just powder coated about 600 of those same boolits so they should be shootable in about a week and a half maybe two weeks... Need to cast some more...

Didn't do anything with casting today, but I loaded up a few of these bad mamma jammas. There seated a touch too long to be able to close the lid, and the box says it should fit

300 Remington ultra Magnum. It's likely the brass will outlast the barrel. At which point I'll rechamber to 338 edge, which is neck and neck with the Lapua, with an action that's half the price,as well as just as good brass for half the price.

What are you loading those 105's into? 9mm, 38/357?
I ask because I have a handful that were going to go into a 380 but I then decided against it. If into a 38 what are you loading it with?

I'm not answering for drac0nic, but I load the Lee 105s over 3.0gr. of Bullseye for my wife's .38 Special. She can shoot that load all day long, and MAN! does a pound of powder last a long time!!

    Thanks Don for the response.
So I guess I should get specific and ask if anyone is loading this bullet with HP-38 or AA#2 in 9mm and 38 Spl?

I load these in to 38/357. My SD9VE and my 9mm AR Carbine don't like to feed these at COALs required even when sized to 356. They were really accurate when fed as singles though. I use the Lee 125 LRN for that these days although I find that to be a bullet somewhat temperamental about COAL it does work pretty well. I would make a couple dummies up and see if you can get em to feed.

Loads I've done in the past in 38 spl are 3.9 TG or Bullseye (I prefer Bullseye over TG the groups seem better) 3 gr Unique (powder puff load, dirty,) 4.4-4.9 GR IMR PB (discontinued, what a shame this seems to be a great clean powder)

In .357 magnum I've loaded these up with 8.3gr Bullseye before and 22gr H110. That stuff is use at your own risk as its hot. As I've mentioned in the past I got 1440fps+ out of a 3" k-frame with the Bullseye loading. That's using powder coat with HF Red which is my exclusive way of handling the lube situation.

I have some 2400 and Blue Dot I want to test and have not done such as of yet. I usually start out using the data for 110gr XTPs or similar. This bullet is certainly a staple of casting and reloading in my revolvers.

Thanks draconic, I use to load only 148gr WC and 158gr SWC for a Mod. 19 Smith but never anything as light as this bullet. I now have a Mod64 Smith to load for.
