Still sorting and tumbling last years range brass. I dry and sort it on the bar in the kitchen and started getting those "looks" so I took everything that was sorted out to the store room.

I'm down to one tray to put up in storage and one caliber left to tumble. I store brass in plastic coffee cans and write on them with a sharpie.

Just heading down shortly to cast some more boolits!

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't reached my "Expiry" date!

New to posting on here but have always read all the great information provided by you guys. Today, I took the, “what the heck leap” of converting some Bulgarian 7.62x54r berdan brass into boxer primer. I was nervous at first but out of 300 pieces I only lost 5 which turned out to be the first 5 I started with. Next thing to do is find some 1/4 inch copper tubing and make some sleeves for the primer pocket.

Popped out another 100 40s on the turret press and it took just over an hour.
Once I started going, I outpaced the RCBS Chargemaster lite...

Today was a tinkering and housekeeping day. I had about a half gallon of roadside rescue wheel weights that I sorted. Many of them had dirt or gravel trapped behind the clips that I scratched out with a dental pick. Worried about moisture in the melt, you know?

I also sorted the first range brass that I picked up this year. About a quart cup or so.

I made my first brass 410 shell this weekend and did not even blow up the old Marlin 60G!

The brass is 9.3x74R, scored 4 of them. They do have a tiny bit of brass rust, but this was the worst and it held up. The first photo is after fire forming with 10 grains of Unique and a case full of Malt-O-Meal. The second shows the original case and the case after being fired with 16 grains of 2400 and 300 grains of #4.

Why??? Because I can and they can be loaded with nothing more than a pair of punches, one to remove the primer and one to pack wads.

Sunday I built shelves from scrap plywood. I used 1 1/8 for the shelves and 5/8 sides so they can handle lead. Monday I went through all the casting and reloading gear and put it on the shelves. The brass tumbler has it's own shelf with all it's supplies. Same with casting and reloading. The reloading bench is CLEAR. It had become a catchall for everything and there wasn't a square inch free when I started. I plugged in the heater a while ago, it's 37* outside now, add a North Wind and it's really nice to have a warm place to work. Should be ready about now.

I cast another couple hundred 220g .359 HP’s. This time real soft for lower velocity “playing”.

Do you crimp at all or do you glue the over shot card in?

Decapped/sized 250 .223 cases then mounted my new to me Dillon Super Swage 600 and swaged the primer pockets. This thing is the cats meow. No noise and almost no effort.

Nice! You can have fun shooting the bell, or show some real skill and go for the clapper.

Actually, I'm impressed you can hold that thing up with just one hand...

Finished loading 100 32H&R Mags for light Target and then 100 38sp self defense Gold Dots for wife's Chiefs Special. I found 2 lbs of Universal on the shelf I'd forgotten about so used that

Today was smelting day. In the shop, not the loading room. We melted a huge pile of pole top pins and ended up with 289 ingots. And several partial buckets of weights for 220 more ingots. The pole top pins were really slow to melt. We have about that much more to melt, hopefully tomorrow.
