Braved the 100° heat to test out a "new to me" mold.

This morning I spent 3 hours casting 148 gr, RN plain base .38s. I discovered last week that I had more empty brass than I had pills to fill them. I can only do this work in the mornings due to the high temps here, since I work in the garage. Tomorrow I hope to get them PCed. Between yard work and putting up blueberries in the freezer, I'm finding it hard to get time for reloading and even less time for the range! Good thing I'm retired. I wouldn't have any time to work!

Today, I assembled my Lee reloading stand. I am tired of being put off by the unbearable heat where my reloading gear is. Now I will be doing it wherever I want to move this very nice stand.

These men and their hypnotized followers call this a new order. It is not new. It is not order.

Started with a full pot and ended up with a bunch of 44 mag. powder coated loaded ammo by the end of the day.

Piggyback needed to be changed from 38, think I could remember where the large primer holder was. That took a while.

Then after test firing, recording the velocity, labeling, and finally looking for place to store it and find I have already too much loaded 44.

I found 9 boxes from a long ago yard sale with $3 stickers. I think I talked her down to $20 for all. But it is FMJ and suspected reloads.

Other 44 mag I found was when I first started reloading. Midway would have a sale, when it was free shipping. Long time ago. I bought 240g jhp bulk and had loaded all 1000 with 23.6 gr of H110. Spicy for an older me.

The 44 SBH was shooting off to one side. The barrel was coming unscrewed. Ruger fixed it. That was almost 40 years ago, good memories.

What did you do in the reloading room today?

bought my first set of RCBS dies for my Remington 760 30-06. i bought them used on Ebay and feel i got a fair deal. paid $35 shipped and the look literally
    brand new

i think the 760 will be my next reloading project once i wrap up either 75 grain j words for my .243 or finishing up the load with mosin. mosin almost done i just need to put together some rounds with my new .311 dia Fl sizing ball and the new NOE .318x314 case mouth expander

Boring stuff: sized and lubed 150 ideal 357-446 boolits with mml+ then coated with Ben's BLL.

Broke down batches of 318 Westley Richards, .416 Rigby and 8mm Mauser. Buddy passed away and I'm disposing of a bunch of his loaded ammo. I'll be at this for months.

Fired up the computer for the first time in months. Then logged into CastBoolits and posted this. Been really busy working on the land. Looking forward to getting some casting done once the heat passes. Hope you all are keeping busy pulling them levers.

I ran 100+ .38 Special rounds thru my Dillon SDB this am. 2.8 'Clays' under a NOE 154 grain rnfp non lube groove powder coated bullet. I am new to the Dillon SDB and it requires more attention than single stage reloading. But you can really crank out some quantity! hc18flyer

Had a big bag of Brand new Rio 12 gauge shotgun hulls I've been meaning to load, but wanted a 1-1/4 oz load but couldn't find much load data. So, I emailed Claybuster. Got an answer following morning that they have a brand new wad that's so new it's not even in the catalog or on their website yet, but I could try if I wanted a sample just send them my address and they would send me some. They arrived in 4 days. Good looking black wads too. Crimped up nice. These new wads are not yet in all stores so check around if you have some Rio hulls you want a1-1/4 oz field load.

Loaded and tested a dozen rounds for the 6.5 Swede with 140 gr eld-m. Shot real nice using imr4831.

Cleaned a bunch of weatherby brass and sized up some 35 whelen.

Mounted my Dillon 550 tool heads wall mount holders to the wall that's not occupied, really cleared out some shelf space!!!! After that I got my .356 resizer ready to get my powder coated 180gn RNFP for the 350 legend.

Getting finished with getting my exhaust fan installed to hopefully get away with PC in the reloading room. Found a 7” fan in a garage sale for five and started looking for a place to put it. While building a frame to fit the window I sliced my left index finger bad. That has slowed the job down to two months. Tomorrow will get to test drive the new convection oven my wife got me for our 7th anniversary.

Tried to sweat off the front sight on my S Armi Sharps 1859 Replica - NO LUCK
I can not shoot the fine low sights of this gun it is drilled for a tang sight and I have one . I have now ordered a Williams Globe front sight when I get that I will make and adapter to get it mounted .
