    Great job!

My only question is how much of the case web remains above the extractor groove and does it compromise the web integrity? I’m thinking case head separation.

I’ve been thinking of getting a miniature lathe for small reloading tools and things like that.

    Case base thicknesses:
    Fiocchi 7.63Mauser - 4.0mm
    CBC 38spl - 4.1mm
    S&B 7.62 Tokarev - 4.35mm

Pretty close, I donīt expect problems.

I got inspiration to this conversion from thehighroad forum, thereīs a thread about converting 38 to 7.62 tok.
I have tried to convert 223 to Tokarev but those shells still lack neck reaming.

Sized and lubed a couple hundred each 38 and 45 boolits. Got 1000+ 38's and about 500 45 ready to load.

Hung out with gun buddies at the gun club for a couple of hours.

Set up the Square Deal B to load 38 specials. Going to use up an OOOLD can of 5066 that has been around for way too long.

Burned my maple syrup that was being reduced thru inattention. Bummer.

Autorama tomorrow, haven't been in over 50 years, I suspect the world of hot rods has changed a bit since the last time I was there.

Good deal. I hope it works out for you like you want. That’s some good thinking.

Loaded 200- .38 Special button nose wad cutters on my Dillon SDB, using the Photo Escape .358 HTC 'powder thru expander'. I loaded them over 2.5 grains of Clays. Last week I loaded a few at 2.7 Clays, plenty warm for paper or plates! I found out about the PE upgrade reading about her thread, works extremely well. hc18flyer

600rnds 45 Cowboy Special Mouse Phart rounds, single-stage Herter's #3 press. 3.7gr Bullseye under 180gr RNFP cast. Test rounds shot very accurate @ 25 paces, and I think a 22 Long Rifle makes more racket.

Spent about an hour casting some .38 boolits.
Usually I use Lee molds. I forgot how tiring it could be running an iron 4-cavity mold. But hey, I got a lot of bullets done in an hour.

I started sorting a bucket of clip on and stick on wheel weights that my brother got at a tire store. He left it on my shop porch.
Amazing how few zinc weights I have found in this gift! Thanks, Brother.

Today I fired up the casting pot and cast about 500 bullets from Accurate 36-125K. Only 3 rejects from the entire bunch! These Accurate molds are an absolute joy to cast with.

Also loaded up 50 rounds of my normal .45 Auto target load (200 gr. SWC over 4.0 gr. Clays), and 20 rounds of a test load using Clays in .45 Colt which will be going through my .454 Casull Rossi 92 just for fun.

After several evenings I finally completed my 223 brass prep of over 2000 cases, all sorted tonight.
Resized, trimmed to length, chaffered inside and outside of the case mouth, primer pockets cleaned, wet tumbled, and all cases ran through a dehydrator to make sure no moisture is left behind in the cases.

I've become a fan of wet tumbling the brass

Getting my mec 600 setup for the 20 gauge. I've a box of 500 Winchester super X hulls That I got from BPI. Only downside is that some are 6 point. Most are 8 point. The 6 points don't do well in the 8 point crimp starter. Lol.

What did you do in the reloading room today?

Since it is a rainy day in AZ, I cast 1,200+ 9mm 120gr TC boolits said n the shop and washed them in acetone getting them ready for powder coating once the humidity goes down.

Does washing them in acetone help powder stick to them better?

It may. All the other rules apply, but I find acetone removes any oil and sweat from handling and removes some oxidation. It removes some variables known to cause problem with the powders giving me the best chance for successful powder static cling.

Loaded several hundred 38 Specials using 60's vintage powder-Winchester 230 P and similar vintage R-P primers with my own cast boolits. Powder and primers were dead guy stuff that I got for almost nothing. Boolits were from freebie lead. Other than time probably a good 1-2 pennies in each load.

Reduced 8-9 gallons of maple sap to ~3 quarts, was supposed to be less than a quart but the propane jug ran dry. Finish it tomorrow or Sunday.

And took the wife out for perch dinner. About the only thing catholic I still do. And she's not a catholic.

Not even a C&E member anymore. More of a F&W kind guy.

And prefer the W to be going to the reception only.

    And NOT a dry one.
