Finished prepping 500 10 mill brass and started priming. Sorted through lots of small batches of different boolits of different weights to start loading for a training shoot week from Friday. PC d 150 MP 165 HPs that I sized before powder. Gained .001 hoping for better accuracy.

Sorted 500 Air Cooled 35-200s. Flared and primed almost 400 pieces of brass. Headed back out to load some 350 Legend.

Loaded some Lee 452-230-TC in 45 Auto. And did some follow-on reading to Ed Harris' article in the most recent Fouling Shot, where he claims that Reloder 7 with hot, water-dropped 50-50 WWs and Lino can cycle a carbine-length AR and be really accurate, too.

The Chore Boy arrived so I got the last bit of lead in the bore of the Colt left by the previous owner. Up until a few weeks ago it had tight throats.

The Wheeler Upper Rail Vise Block arrived too. Whoever assembled my 350L Upper overtightened the barrel nut to line up the handguard holes and still didn't get there. I tried to remove it but the force would have ripped the lugs off. I used a 6 inch Vise, clamped the upper rail in the Wheeler Block and used a 25" breaker bar on the nut wrench and it still took a couple tries. I had a shim kit and got it to line up at 60 ftlbs, 80 is max. Whoever put mine together was over 200 ftlbs and the threads were Greased!

Over the last few months I managed to acquire powder, primers, and 500 bore + .001” sized cast boolits. So, this week I’ve been doing load development for my 10yr old Walther PPQ .40 S&W. I started with 6.2 gr Silhouette lit by CCI 550 pushing 160 gr LHP. I ended up at 7 gr Silhouette as the best group performance last night shooting 4 of 5 rounds into ~ 1.5” at 21 feet. So, this evening I loaded up 100 rounds.

Wow! Thanks for the heads up! It looks like their selling for $650 over List right now. Besides I already spent too much on one revolver this year!

Attacked rust on a Winchester m25 with a wire brush and cordless drill until the battery ran out. Re-coated it with Kroil to sit for a week or so.

Took the daughter out on my range to do an orientation with the 637 Smith I did up for her, action job, trigger job, Packmeyer grips, Etc. She got in 50 rounds of 3.2 grains of 231 under 148 grain soft cast HB wad cutters, a few 158 grain cast hard cast SWCs with 3.5 grains of 231 and a few rounds of 125 JHPs.

    carelesslove, here!

Finally, I got around to tumbling, inspecting, sizing, depriming, and cleaning the primer pockets of 450 rounds of old, W-W nickeled .357 Magnum brass. Then, I will trim it to length and get it ready for reloading.

After all this, I plan to load it and stock for inventory - then shoot all of it - hoping I live long enough for it to need trimming again.

This brass is still probably better than I can buy today. It sure does shine up well!

    Thanks, carelesslove

Friday I unloaded 144 44Mag rounds with the new to me Colt. Saturday I deprimed the brass and cleaned the gun. There were a few flakes of lead in the bore that came out with the first patch wet with Ed's Red, nothing on the second patch and the bore was like a mirror after a dry patch. I'm hoping it will season like my old 629. One problem, when the gun gets dirty the cylinder will skip forward a chamber under recoil. I pulled the side plate and checked the bolt spring which looks to be more rare than hen's teeth. I need to check the bolt penetration of the cylinder slot and see if Jack First is still around for a spring. My first Anaconda was unfinished when I got it too.

I've been tumbling the brass while I wrote. About 500 pieces in a Rebel 17 with stainless pins. Back to work!

Cast and powder coated 175- Lee 340 grain .45-70 and 200 .45 ACP bullets. It was my first try, very happy with my experience. Found a Oster convection oven at Goodwill for $4.00 and a screen pan for an air fryer, that fit my oven perfectly. Ordered powder from Smoke and followed his instructions. I used an oven thermometer and baked for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. I am hoping I can load them without sizing, we will see? Of course the .45 ACP are 'OD green, for my brothers GI 1911. hc18flyer
