Loaded the last of my commercially plated tigersharks. Running dangerously low on powder.. Not going to have time in the next 2 weeks to get to the store either :/
Had enough time to have my first throw at casting. It went well, I'm a happy camper. I hope to phase out completely buying 9mm bullets if I can do a good enough job applying the hitek on this lot.
Loading 100 .300 blackout with AA1680 and .308 110gr FNHP Speer - sorry but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.....

I formed some 30 Luger from 9x23 Super Comp and loaded them for my Glocks. 5.8 grains of unique (this is a modern 30 Luger load suitable for modern made barrels - BarSto Glock or Ruger approach with caution) with 98 grain hollow point NOE 315-102 swcs. Trying to mimic some 1920s Rem UMC hollow points. I wonder why these never caught on, you figure 308 cal hollow points at 1200 fps or 30 Mauser at 1400 fps should be a pretty good killer. Since I can load these hotter in the Glock, they should do well.
Here are two reloads flanking the original Rem UMC load.

I used my new .358 Lee push thru sizer. I sized fifty 148gr tumble lube wadcutters. They had been coated in 45/45/10 before sizing, and got another coat after sizing.
This is a test batch of my first cast boolits. I water quenched these. I used the art pencil hardness test on Sunday, they are pretty hard, somewhere around 15 bhn. I think that they are too hard for .38 special loads. I am going to load these up in a mid-range .357 mag load.
Tomorrow I am going to buy some powder. I want to buy a pound of Unique, I can use it in this application, for a mid-range .357 load, and also use it to load some cast rounds for my 7.7X58mm Arisaka.

PC'D some 40 cal cup points... About 260 or so.

Tumbled some 45ACP & 38Sp. brass.
Loaded up 100 45ACP with TL452-230SWC pushed by 4.7gr. RD.
Sorted more 45ACP for a loading session later today or tonight.
And in a little while I am going to tumble lube some more TL 452-230 SWC or RN (2R), but I have not decided which type yet. Have to see what the stash looks like.
I know I need to get casting again soon. Been waiting for the temps to get a bit higher. Maybe this weekend if we don't have rain forecast. Might even melt about 400# of scrap into ingots if I get the time.
Need to go shooting soon too. I got the itch again as it has been a while now. Tine for Winter to go & Spring to start up.

Did I ever mention that I hate to trim brass?
Heading down to the shop shortly to start sorting out a few surplus items to put on my table and sell at this coming weekend's local gun show ...
I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't reached my "Expiry" date!
Was not in my reloading room but outside and smelted 150 3# ingots of range scrap. Next I have to buy moulds and learn how to cast and PC booklets. I making some progress through, two years ago I didn't even reload. By this summer I hope to be casting for all my handguns.
Reloading area is a hotel room in a not so free part of the country. Sized new 300 BLK brass. Will clean and finish processing this weekend. Thankfully they don’t need to be trimmed.
Made some big chunks of lead into little chunks of lead.
Hmm...I’ve just been loading NOE TL357-135RF with a severe HP over 4.3 gr. Unique in 9.

Sized, decapped about 750-800 Mil .45 ACPs and swaged the primer pockets. Polished 'em and packed 'em up for moving. Cleaned up one bench and messed it up again but it's still better than it was.

Say, they are pretty. What do they look like going downrange? Do they leave a smudge on the target?
