Parents came to visit. Dad hadnt seen the reloading room/man cave. He was impressed at the gun stock restoration and reloading bench. Made me feel good and proud of the work I do.
Finished 120 rds of 300 BO for the wife's rig.
"Yes or no will almost always suffice as the answer"
Clean and fluxed about 120 lbs. of range lead and wheel weights, got it into manageable 2+ lb. muffins. This plus the 100+ robot counterweight from Wednesday. All that is left is ~ 30 lbs. of telephone lead that has to have the wires stripped out before melting. And a 50+ lb. bucket of dross that will be heated one more time.
I got it from another guy and I'll bet there's another 20 lbs. in there.
And made reloading opportunities in 30-06, 7x57 and 303 British.
Glued a table back together, cleaned part of my bench, ventilated a couple of old style propane tanks so I can scrap them out, started cleaning out a barn at the farm.
Been a busy day, time to fire up the Harley and go for a cool off ride and maybe mooch a beer from a buddy who lives in Maybee.......
Cut Al strips and punched out .224 gas checks.

I spent quite a bit of time over the week past prepping 308 Winchester brass .
Deprimed a bucket of 5.56 and sorted enough 45 acp to have a bucket of lpp and a gallon zip loc of spp

Decapped, tumbled, and reloaded 25 30-30 with the 310 tong tool to try out the 312 expander Rick at the 310 Shop found for me. Worked pretty good.
I found 7 sun ripened 30-30 brass on a sandstone bluff at the hunting lease a few weeks ago. I washed them off and then loaded them with Win 748 and Lee C309150F sized .309” and pc’d orange. They look special enough to hunt with.
In the process of getting about 8000 5.56 cases sized, cases trimmed, chamfered, primer pockets "de-crimped", and ready to load when I become somewhat housebound in about a month. Hip revision surgery coming up, could put me on limited outdoor work for a spell. Figured I'd put my time to good use.
Been giving away ammo (for good whiskey) to family that wasn't prepared for the sudden disappearance of everything, and they are nervous. I figured it ain't doing me any good sitting down in the loading room, and I'm not gonna be like my dad, and end up passing everything to his only son who reloads, who already has way too darn much himself in the first place. Gonna start giving it to my son and his wife that shoot now. I enjoy loading it almost more than I do shooting it.
la5676 maybe you should save of that busy work for after the procedure. I have a feeling rehab is going to be longer than you think.
Sat at my reloading bench taking inventory of components. need more 230gr .45cal bullets, more 155gr .40 RNFP bullets. De-primed and wet tumbled 200 .30-06 cases.
Right now, just depriming the last hour or so before I hit the pillow. Staying busy outside with wife unit acting on all she gleans from her HGTV shows. The case trimming, and wet cleaning will all come post surgery. Re: I asked about a wet tumbler on another thread too. I think I'm ordering a FA 7 liter
The worst case scenario is 8-12 weeks on a walker, as opposed to just one when I originally got hip put it. But doctors continually try to emphasize that is not likely, but to only be prepared for it. Hardware got recalled, but mine lasted 9 years before it started failing.
Not trying to detract from the topic but I do understand. I have a Dacron Tube graft going from my Sternum to about 4" below my groin into each leg. It has been there for 14 years and still going strong. This is also the second one. The First only lasted 3.5 years. Full recovery took3 months but in actuality it was almost 9 months before I felt 100%. Best wishes for you!
Decapped some 9mm .223 and 40sw. Now they are tumbling. Yesterday loaded some 44mag and 38 super. Day before that .380

Gearing up for some serous casting, and ingot making. Factory is shut down for 3 weeks so lots of free time. Need to work on, .44 mag, 8MM Nambu, 8MM MAK, and .32 acp. Just got my vintage Lyman MAK mold back from Lyman for a much needed tune up.
