    I took my second deer ever a long (long, long) time ago with the 222 barrel and a reduced load 50 gr bullet (as a teenager then, I theorized that a reduced load for an MV of 2300 FPS would reduce fragmentation and increase penetration). The deer might have taken three steps after hit. Later that 24V went to college in Oregon with me and took plenty of ducks, pheasant, a few geese, grouse, and a couple more deer with rifled slugs.
