    Candle melter for LAM warmer?

I found one of these at a thrift shop today for a buck.

    Attachment 123497

I was wondering if it would work as a warmer, or if they get too hot for carnauba red?

I think yes but give it a try. Old clothes irons are perfect on a metal plate as you have total temp control, I think that melter will get too hot..

I didn't think about a clothes iron, I've got one of those in my junk box too!

I suppose I'll play with that instead, I tinkered with this yesterday it feels like it's way too hot, if that makes sense.

Trouble light with a 75 watt bulb hangs off the sizer just fine. Use the on off switch as your thermostat.

You might could use that thing with a dimmer switch. You certainly could use it if you had a thermocouple and a PID.

Went through the junk boxes and found an iron with a thermostat control on it. On the low setting it seems to be about what I wanted, just enough to get the body warm.

I thought those were for coffee mugs? I use mine to dry wet patched bullets. Perfect for that.
