    225462

I see a 222 in my near future and after reading some of the search hits, it appears the Lyman 225462 is THE mould for this cartridge. My question is, have we ever had a group buy for a clone of this mould?

Don't recall any group buys for that one. NOE has quite an assortment of 22 caliber designs. You may want to take a look.

I picked up his 225 55Gr. FN 4 cavity GC (MX3-22) last spring for my 222 but haven't cast with it yet. Will build up a stock this winter. I wanted a big enough boolit for coyote. For shooting smaller stuff and especially if you want to use shotgun powders like Unique. he has the BRP 45 grain design that is similar to the Lyman design you quoted. Just lighter.

I have high expectations for this 55gr Egan design. Rifle already shoots great with the 60 grain finished weight in my alloy Lyman #225646. But I keep running out of boolits so bought a four cavity mold to keep up, lol. With the heavier 55 and 60 grain bullets my rifle runs best with fast rifle powders. Using AA 5744 right now. With a lighter bullet of 45 grains a smaller charge of Unique should work as it has for many over the years.
