    Small lead score...

I wandered into a local electronics recycler today, trying to get rid of an old TV set. I figured I'd have to pay, so I was in for a surprise... It seems the EPA told them they can't charge me to dispose of the TV if I bring it in, even though I know it'll cost them to get rid of it.

So... I asked them, do you have any lead, figuring I could at least BUY something. They have a few wheels weights and some dirty lead, and a few dead soft plumbing lead pieces, and a bag of commercial shotgun shot with maybe 18 pounds left in it. How much, says I... Well... $1 per pound on the plumbers lead, but you can HAVE the pellets.

What? OK! $5 later, I don't have the old TV, I do have 3/4 of a bag of commercial shotgun shot, plus a little dead soft to add to the stash.

Not a big score, but for $5, I'm very happy!

Deal does not have to be "big" to be nice. Shot is nice lead so I think you got a nice deal, especially at $5. Might be some member would want it as shot for reloading and be willing to trade you some lead for it. Have seen that come up before.

Oh, I'll use it. I'm going to reload some 12 gauge hulls and shoot clay birds.

Well all I want to know is what did those clay birds ever do to you? Not really, I picked up part of a bag of #7 magnum shot to use as hardener but if before I need it I can find a 20 gauge reloading set who knows what its final destination will be other than down range.
