What are these rifles like I have one coming hopefully in 7mm-08 as a backup rifle if my tikka (ha ha yeah right) or mates 270 (is more like it) get damaged or fogged scope etc and for mates 12yr old to use
I am also thinking of a 223
What experience do you other owners have good and bad
Any advice appreciated

A friend bought one a little while back in .308 and says it shoots and handles great. .

I bought one in 243 for my 12 year old grandson. He really likes it. Low recoil, extremely accurate. He got his first deer with it this year.

I have a 30/06, and it was extremely easy to get a sub 1" hundred yard group with.. In fact the first test load series provided it.

Can't remember that happening very often in the past.

Recently a friend told me of a new RUGER American he had and it was also shooting VERY well.

I'd guess this is not a 100% thing, but the very chances are good of you getting a good shooter.

I'd buy another one if it was needed.

I bought a 308, liked is so much I bought a 7-08, loved it! now I'm looking for a 243 Win....

Good to know. A LGS I occasionally stop by has one in 308 in the rack that keeps calling my name. Like I need another rifle but it keeps calling me.

Finally got rifle yesterday it is a well made rifle for the price and the bolt could they not find a bigger piece of steel

Two weeks a go I bought the Ruger American .22. I had been wanting a good .22 for several years. After reading a couple reviews praising this .22, I bought one. I chose the 18" option and then swapped out the shorter stock for the longer one. Then I added a Bushnell rim fire scope that I had on an air rifle.

Results? using mixed 10 year old ammunition the rifle produced a 2" 10 shot group from 40 yards. I've since bought two boxes of new ammo, Blazer and Thunderbolt. I'm eager to see what kind of group it will produce firing a single brand of ammo.

It has the feel and weight of a center fire rifle. The balance is good. The trigger is crisp, though I want to reduce the weight a bit.

This is an excellent .22. You can buy it for a grandson or daughter and he or she can use it from adolescence into adulthood.

I just toted home a compact in .223 this evening.

I'll report back how things go! Very impressed with the trigger right out of the box .... can't wait to get it out of the stock and do some tuning! The barrel is already floated and I like the idea of two magazines from the factory!

A friend just picked one up in .308 and is loving it. I'd been thinking of getting the gf one in .308 since my guns all have the bolt handle on the left side. The one in .300blk interests me too, but the bolt handle is on the wrong side for me. Then again, the .300blk is so short that I may be able to cycle it with my right hand and hold the gun up with my left and not break cheek weld while I cycle the bolt like a .22.

Hey there Duke, did ya pick up those bad rifles with the wrong side bolts on the discount "seconds" rack?

You would think the manufactures would want to keep tighter quality control!

Don't feel bad, I have to work to keep my brother in law straightened around as he also don't have no rights !

Sorry, just couldn't resist, not that I tried overly hard!

With the .308, or 30/06 for that matter, you can make dandy reduced practice loads for the gals or young shooters in our lives.

Gives them lots of trigger time with no flinch issues ever getting started and the shot or two they take hunting with full power loads, they will never feel or hear.

My young friend put a bunch of reduced "06" loads through my RUGER American last year.

One other advantage to the reduced loads is the fact that the barrel doesn't heat up as fast, so they can shoot more with less down time while the barrel cools. That is a plus, but they have so much fun with those loads, you need to have plenty on hand.

My RAC in .223 is running 3@.325"@100 yds.

I think that pretty good for rifle that is priced in the mid $300 range!

And is stunning since I did that with a 4X scope!

Count me happy!
