Hi ,I have some 2207 and HRBC 180gn boolits ,I want a starting load for 30 06 ,the rifle is a 1903 good bore but otherwise a bit grotty .

We're not snobbish, but reluctant to jump into something we're unsure of. Please restate what your powder and bullets are---no initials which might be mistaken for something they aren't. I like 180gr. jacketed boat tails over 48 gr. of IMR-4895 in my M1903.
26.0 - 30.0 grains should be good for 1700-2000 fps with 180gr boolits. This powder is the same as H4198 which is normally a little fast for 30-06 but should be good for reduced loads.

I would suggest a fluffed out tuft of Dacron to position the powder. No air gap between the Dacron and boolit
