Pistol Powder Update ( Cabellas )

Had lunch with a shooting buddy.
    Got to Cabelas around 1:15.
Checked for ammo first. As usual they had anything anyone would want. Except .22s'
Had nothing but match stuff at ten to twenty dollars a box and CCI 100 packs for 9.99.

Wandered over to the gun counter, You wouldn't believe what I found!
Would you believe a Desert Eagle Semi Auto handgun in caliber .45-70!

Then I saw the powder section and didn't even look at it. Started to walk by.
My buddy said "look, they have Unique"!
Sure enough, they had one pound bottles of Unique and Bulls Eye lined up like bean cans at the grocery store.
They Had Accurate No2, Accurate No 7, 2400, Tightwad and one 8 pound keg of Unique.

That is the first pistol powder I have seen on a gun store shelf in approximately TWO YEARS!

They had at least twenty types of rifle powder including the entire IMR lineup except 4064 and all the Reloader numbers.

Tons of CCI primers at 38.00 that is ten dollars higher then the going price at local gun shows.

He had to go to work so I walked him to the door and came back. Probably 10 minutes.
They still had the Accurate NO 7 and ONE one pound bottle of unique plus the eight pound keg. and NOTHING else.

So, we know they haven't quit making it.

How does the Accurate 2 and 7 work in 44mag, any experience?

All that was pulled in 10 minutes. lol The wonderfull power of the internet. I have been thinking that this is probably what is keeping powder off of most stores. Anytime one gets some in, an alert goes up on this and probably every other forum and is likely gone in minutes. Now you see it, now you don't. lol

Went to BassPro's website last week and bought 8 pounds of Bullseye. Went back yesterday and scored 8 pounds of Unique. They've still got more, I think!

Accurate 2 would be almost identical to Bulls Eye - Excellent for targets or plinkers.
Accurate 7 is a little bit faster than 2400. It would be good for sensible hunting loads and almost maximum performance loads.

Accurate 9 is VERY similar to 2400 I have used three or four pounds of it and I really like it.

Williamwaco, that is very encouraging! Since I just saw 2 of those 3 in the local Cabelas! Powders & molds...its an addiction!

A Deagle in .45-70? You gotta have big hands to work that one... The cartridge is about 2.5 inches long.

My shipment from Bass Pro shops arrived today.
3 lbs of red dot, a pound of 3031 that I could have gotten anywhere, and a couple of boxes of expensive primers.

But, with the hazmat fee, still cheaper to get it all in one spot.

I'm hoping this means the big dry spell is mostly over. We will see.

Doesn't even seem possible to me but that is really what the tag said.
