    358315 Ideal Square Groove - Modified or Original Design

    I just picked up an Ideal pre-vent 358315, it has a square lube groove. Has anyone else encountered this?

    Well, going from round to square involves adding metal. So, did they? If not then it's original.

    OK, maybe It's something else. It just seemed like when I cast with it, it somehow looked odd. I'll cast with my other moulds tonight and compare. I'll post a photo if something looks out of the ordinary.

    Lyman/Ideal changed grease grooves at times. I've got an Ideal 375248 with square grease grooves and a Lyman 375248 that has round bottom grease grooves. Things change in over 100 years of manufacturing.
