It is probably much easier to machine a mold design that is already tooled up and consequently can fill in machine time while waiting for a cherry and the following development. This is just my best guess how these things work. Case in point is the 6.5mm Cruise Missile.

Several of Miha's group buys that I've been on have had a day or two to week or two last call. Then again sometimes there's just a request for funds. If as I suspect it's around awhile I'll get on when the other things quiet down.
