I prefer the old Southern Gospel most of the time; Where no one stands alone, Child of the King among others. An old (Irish) song with a modern rendition You'll Raise Me Up

My interest in Christian music varies widely. One ancient hymn, the Te Deum Laudamus, is part of my church's (Lutheran) Liturgy. It is majestic, moving, and filled with praise toward God. The title is from the first stanza which means "We praise Thee O God." Here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvAoiu6v0h4

I also like a lot of Bluegrass Gospel. One of my favorites is On Heaven's Bright Shore, in particular the version sung by Ralph Stanly and Alison Kraus. That can be found on YouTube.

O Divine Redeemer, I Stand all Amazed, The Old Rugged Cross, In the Garden, Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me, Faith of our Fathers, Handel's Halleluja Chorus..."The Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace..." gives me chills every time, and "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" . I wish we could sing Easter hymns all year!

    He is risen indeed!

Mine is either Amazing Grace, Beulah Land, or In The Garden.

I do long for the day I meet my Savior.

All the above are awesome. I might add a couple more:

I Am Yours -- Casting Crowns (kinda appropriate, I think)

Amazing Grace -- Wintley Phipps -- with fascinating preamble / history before the song. So powerful!

Statue of Liberty -- Favorite rendition by Debbie Wade and Charles Haugabrooks -- Charles really nails this song.
Trochilids, Living in The Great Land

"And that the said Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press, or the rights of conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms." -- Samuel Adams, February 6, 1788.
"Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense?" -- Patrick Henry, 1836.

Excellent song. But me thinks the link isn't what you intended. Or it was a test and I passed!

"A Mighty Fortress is our God" Too bad the church I attend now won't play it. It wouldn't be the same without a pipe organ....

My Dad loves "Our Father has Light in His Window" This is an old Danish hymm that was translated to English. It is a tough one to find. I barely remember parts of the tune. It's really quite good with a great lesson!

I appreciate a wide variety of sacred music. For example, I love singing the Te Deum, which was sung by the early church and is part of my denomination's matins service. I see I posted this twice. Here is a nice version of the Te Deum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvAoiu6v0h4

I also love old time Blue Grass Gospel: On Heaven's Bright Shore, Farther Along, [Allison Spear and the Stamps Baxter Choir: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW2P9Un2ft0. Allison Spear sings this song from the soles of her feet on up; she can't stand still while singing it. Check it out. It makes me real happy listening to this one.

Another beautiful Bluegrass Gospel tune is "I Am Weary, Let me Rest." Listen to this version sung by Alison Krauss and the Cox Family: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF9aboincMc

DC Talk is modern music band. "What If Stumble" It makes me relive my life like Amazing Grace does and I've heard other bands play it too. "The Red Letters" sounds pretty good. In the movie Gods Not Dead, a singer from DC Talk helped out in the concert towards the end of the movie.
Oh great, another thread that makes me spend money.
