    T/C in 357 Mag.

I picked up this one at the Birmingham Gun Show Saturday.

    T/C Contender, 10 " Bull Barrel, 357 Mag. , Bore is pristine.
Notice that the bore is an 8 lands / groove bore.
I've got bases and rings coming to me from MidWay . Base and scope rings will be here middle of the week.

Considering all the 38 / 357 molds that I own ( about 30 ea. )( 75 gr. wadcutter - 290 gr. HP ) , I'll be testing and evaluating loads in this one for the next 100 years.

    I'll have a 2X - 6 X Trophy variable scope on this one.

We both know how much fun you are going to have, and I'm tickled you are going to try out the heavyweights!

I have the 10" bbl for my T/C as well. It shoots everything extremely well from 38 wadcutters to heavy 357 JHP loads, and is not particular at all about any of them. Yours looks like one of the older barrels (like mine) where the bluing is so deep "you could swim in it". The newer barrels are not finished quite as well. I have the 2x6 Trophy for mine also, as well as a Tasco Pro Point. Enjoy it.

Yes, this one should be a lot of fun !

I plan to start things off with this NOE , 180 gr. WFN, g/c.

Good find Ben. I'm sure you know about the long chambers on 357mag T/C's. With the 12" barrel I had, I could not touch the rifling with a NOE 200gr RCBS clone. I had it rechambered to 357max. If you can find some 360 Dan Wesson brass, I understand that those work better in the long chambers. 360 DW brass is in between a 357mag and 357 max and should bring the bullet closer to the rifling. Starline makes 360DW brass, but one has to wait until they receive at least a total order count of 50,000 pcs. IIRC.

I believe you will find happiness with that mold in the T/C

I have two of these, one with irons and the other with a Simmons 4x. Both are great with just about any load I have tried in them. I usually use either the Lee 158gr SWCGC, the Lyman 358156, or the Mihec HP version of the 358156. I need to find a 3rd one for another idea I have been thinking of trying.
I passed my last psych eval, how bout you?

You better sell that before the barrels start multiplying!!! The 180 grain is a great choice for the contender mine shoots nice with a gas checked version.

    Yes, no doubt about that.

    I have a .22 LR Match, a 30-30, a Super 14 in 44 Mag.
Now with the 357 Mag. Looks like I'll be busy for some time to come.
