    $179 for 8 lbs of 2495 or $200 for 8 lbs of H-4895?

I have always heard that these two were the same powder. There seems to be little data for the AA2495, is it interchangeable with H-4895?

    Thanks

    No stay away from 2495

I bought 2 pounds of it expecting performance similar to 4895
What I found was it blew 2 primers with loads about 2 grains under the start load in a 7.65 Mauser.
I eventually increased the load 3 grains and it settled down but I am never buying any more of it.
By the way the 2 pounds I got came from China and smelled like phenol (moth balls).

Considering how many loads one can get from an 8 lb. jug, I'd pay the extra $21 for the better known, more available data, probably more quality controlled, product.

AA-2495 is closer to H322. Not even close to the same.

AA or Accurate is always a cheaper powder , in every way, I have used it and had good luck with it AA3100 is my go to powder for .270Win. and 30-06Gov. but do your own load work up wit it , the numbers may be the same nut that is as far as it goes.

I bought a lb of AA2495 when 4895 was not available. AA says that it is close to 4895, but I disagree. I worked up a 223 load with it. It is slower, dirtier, and caused higher ES velocities.

I still have most of the lb left, going on 8 years now.

One of their first reloading manuals had alot of cast bullet info and loads and I always have had good results in all their powder recipes. I stay with their data and found not to compare with burn rates or things get funny sometimes. I really am liking 2700 a whole lot recently.

I have had outstanding results with AA 2495 in my Ruger Scout 308. 200 FPS gain with no pressure signs.
I have only 4 ounces left. I would snatch the AA in a second.

That said, my powder is 20 years old. I would try the new stuff.

I have used both powders and still do. In one manual I have here somewhere it states that 2495 is one of the best powders available for cast boolits! I have NEVER seen any 2495 from China either! When did that happen?
