    311-165xcb range time

Got some loaded up with Varget. 45,46 and 47gr. under the new 165gr XCB boolit. Alloy is App. 93.7/3.5/2.5/.19Cu and a touch of silver from the solder. Water quenched from the mould.

Started with 45gr.-- all over the place

    Same with 46gr.

Wasn't planning on shooting the 47gr load, as I figured I was just pushing them too fast for the rifle (Smith-Corona O3A3 4 groove rifle--basically stock, except for new bolt handle to use with scope . Figured just a waste of powder and was going to pull the bullets, but decided to shoot them and see.

First three shots of the 47gr went into an inch, then 4th went way out @10:30 and 5th was at the two almost touching. So, 3 (yes there are 3 there--2 in darn near same hole) in 1/2 inch, one opening it to 1 inch and the wild one making it about 2 inches. Might have let a defective one slip thru my quick inspection when sizing.

    Only chrono'd two of the 47gr. 2,609fps and 2,598fps.

I memory serves, it's an Accurate mold.

accurate has a version with the flat truncated cone type nose.
NOE has the higher B.C. version with a spire nose.

they both have the same dimensions and angles. [except for the nose shape]

Rockrat, you see wild flyers a lot at HV until you get the finer details worked out. Any casting voids, neck thickness/tension variances, gas checks not 100% fully square, sprue nibs, or a butterfly flapping its wings in Brasil can fling one wide once in a while. Looks like you got the pressure delivery at launch correct for your alloy there at the end. That's 187,000 rpm there.
