    Blammer,
Good luck on Your hunt in Colorado, and thank you for getting my gas checks out to me so quickly before you went.

BrassMagnet--You won't be far from me, I get to look at the Grand Mesa every day. Its about 25 Mi. North of me. I guess you will probably be coming down I-70. If Highway 50, PM me, I'll buy you a cup of coffee.

Blammer, if you are anywhere close too, same offer.

OK, so when do I expect to get my package of Elk sausage???? Hopefully it won't take you too long to get them in the mail. I like cheese added too.

    Rockrat, sounds like a plan.

Need any GC's? I can bring them with me and save on shipping.

Blammer best of luck on your hunt. Can't wait to here your report on the performance of that 200 gr. boolit. My brother in Co. was going to use that very boolit on his elk this year but in the end he's using a Noe 358009 that he worked up a load for recently.
Anyway, i can't wait to hear both reports.

    Best of luck!

Don't shoot this one, we love to see him when we visit Estes Park! 7X's are hard to find.

This one, go for it. He scared me half to death. My wife and SIL were POSITIVE he was gonna kill me.

Grandson took this with his phone, you can just see me and my video camera tripod at the far right. Yes, he was CLOSE!

Good luck a have a safe hunt and travels. Saw a pretty awesome 6X6 in the bed of a SB Toyota a few hours ago, would guestimate him at 46-48 wide and 24-26 high...but he was in too big a hurry to get to the taxidermist and blew past me well over the posted speed so it was difficult to judge.
Me, I'd rather have a nice fat cow. Better meat, no taxidermy fees.

People having pretty good luck this year in my neck of the woods. You better take your long johns it's going to be a bit frosty up where the elk are at.

Our travel trailer for our hunting camp is in position now.
There is a little snow on the ground, but not a lot. There is plenty of clear ground.

Your location says South Central CO. Humor this easterner and tell me something:

Is there any decent hunting west of Blanca peak, down south of the Zapata ranch? We went there in 1992, I think, and saw no elk and few deer. Best I can tell, the waterfall has been turned into some sort of park now, but back then it was nearly impossible to get to it in November.

I'd probably never go back there, but I have often wondered what the place was like. In 2011 I was there for less than an hour, right before dark, and didn't get to 'look around' the way I wanted before it got dark on us. We just drove up a road, got out and went for a walk, then back to the car at dark and went on towards our main destination.

Probably wouldn't have to much luck west of Blanca, but if you went north and hunted one of the late seasons you might have a fair shot at an elk during migration

Thanks! I'll probably never be back there, but I made some memories there once upon a time.

Yep, made it in good time.
Already saw 30 cow elk today! Unfortunately they were near Denver in a football field...
