Get the dies and a mould or two. Also a bunch of brass while you look for a rifle.
Once ya get a rifle two rounds wont get it done.
    Been there and done that.

Just wondering- Is that better or worse than been given a mould in which you do not have the correct pipe and buying something to shoot them?

I sold an odd six Mauser for $80 bucks a few months ago. Guy says it shoots better than his Remington

It's just downright weird for a man to not own an '06. You need to get that situation taken care of ASAP.

About 30 years back I was looking at some of my fired `06 brass wondering what could be made from them. Now I look at my .338-06 brass and wonder what took me so long? My advice is visit a gunshop and ask "what`s on the shelf in `06 for a nominal sum"?Robert

I had to buy a .45 pistol because I had picked up so many pieces of 45 brass that I had to have a gun to shoot them. I shoot that gun more than my other pistols now.

As far as the 06 goes I feel that every American should own one. It's the patriotic thing to do.

Love to see pics of people on the NY Subways with Garands on their shoulders. I bet crime would drop right off the charts.

I saw a pic once of a Israeli School teacher on a field trip with her kids. She had an M1 carbine on her shoulder.

This could be coming to us very soon.

No '06................OMG! Please, remedy that horrible situation.........and FAST!

I gladly accept ANYTHING gun-related that is given to me whether I shoot it or not. Who knows what will pop up in the future!

    I sold a 223 rifle 15 years ago.
Three weeks ago I was looking through/cleaning out the back part of my garage and came across a dusty 30cal ammo can. Guess what I found in it.
Yup, roughly 400 rounds of 223 loaded up with match bullets. I completely forgot I had them.
Now I don't know what to do. I really have no use for a 223 except to shoot up that ammo.

I built an AR because I had so much brass. I have a few 308s so I started buying military brass in bulk. Now I'm buying rifles chambered for rounds I can make out of 308 brass. Outside of a M1 I have no desire for an '06. I have rifles that span it's power range.

In these parts that kind of find would mean 400 dead prairie dogs.

No prairie dogs here in Illinois that I know of. We have coyotes but I could hunt them for years and not shoot up all that ammo. Way too much gun for squirrels and rabbits.

Go get a savage in 223 and sell it when you are done. Don't know if you have a local on-line trader or not but I picked up a 06 Savage for $200. Can't go wrong at that price and you will find someone to buy it for that.
As far as the OP goes, can't see a better reason to get another gun. What you have there sir is an 06 starter kit.
