Accurate molds

I have never used accurate molds but have heard good things about them. I am considering his 460-414V for use in my 1895 SBL. I love the look of that meplat. Looks like it would hit like a hammer. So is it worth the $110 to get a 3 cavity aluminum mold? And does anybody have experience with this particular mold?

Not that mold, but a few accurate molds. Yes, worth it. Excellent quality molds.

Tom will cut it for YOUR dimensions, specify exactly what you want. IIRC he uses WW for his alloy standard - you compensate for YOUR alloy. I have 5 of them, all work great.

Absolutly worth it, and even more valuable if you get four or five cavities. Also, aluminum is the best material (IMO).

If you also add in the fact of delivery in under a month besides the joy of a great mold, YES it is worth it.Robert

Actually on his order form you can specify what alloy you are using. I have 5 and they all work perfect.

Absolutely worth it. I had a 3 cavity al mould cut 1 cavity 45-390P and the other two 46-405V for my 1895 and have been very happy with the mould and the boolits it drops.

Yes, for a new design. Standard orders are WW IIRC.

Only Tom could say, but I do not believe there is a standard alloy default. His site says:

"In order to produce the requested bullet diameter, I need to know how much tin is in the alloy. All applicable alloys shrink as they solidify. The more tin, the less shrinkage. The alloy choices in the drop down menu are listed in order of expected shrinkage, from greatest to least. If you intend to use varied alloys, choose the most appropriate one that's highest on the list, so that other alloys with more tin will be a bit larger."

You just cannot go wrong with Accurate or N.O.E., have 4 of Tom's now, longest it took from my ordering to getting the mold was 12 days, Al at N.O.E. is also right on the ball, have 16 of his molds, am fazing out ALL my Lee molds, tired of their issues.

Whatever Tom charges for any given mould is worth it...I've got several and they're always perfect and throw excellent bullets regardless the caliber.

Great molds. They also have molds that solve some unique rifle problems. Such as the K31's short leade, and the M95's oversized groove diameter. You can specify the body diameters of your mold. Many mold designs seem to be available in gas check or plain base. Down side is, nothing under 30 caliber from the catalog list.

Thanks for the input guys! I took the plunge and ordered a 3 cavity aluminum mold. It was the 46-415V. I think it will do awesome in my 1895! Now I have to be patient till it gets here!

I've found with heavier, larger bullets I get better bullest quicker and more consistent in weight if I use a ladle over a bottom pour pot.
