    Darn Milsurps!

Like the title says, Darn milsurps! You can't own just one! I just ordered another Mosin. Now I have two Mosins, A Polsih p64 and two 98 Mausers. OH When will it end! These things are just too addictive. Is there a cure!
I ordered the new Mosin ( a type 53 ) from SOG to keep my 91/30 company. Now I'll have to feed it too! Please help me! I'm hooked bad!

Mil-surpitis is a curable disease. First you must accept it, welcome the pain, then buy some SMLEs, a Lebel, one or two Vetterlis, a Carcano and a set of Schmidt Rubin rifles and of course the obligatory M88 Commission rifle and .........

I've found lately that it's cheaper to buy at local auctions. I bought a 91/30 for $110.00 in January and a French MAS 49/56 last month for $190.00, still had cosmo in the barrel(a MAS 36 went for $165.00) . The auctions that have surplus seem to have 6 to 10 Mosins.

no such thing as an unfired milsurp, but if they are in nice original shape, you need one or two.

These actually came from the Swedish arsenal that built them. Unissued, unfired. GORGEOUS!

Go buy some milsurp ammo! Then go and shoot it all up, and gloat about how much you didn't spend on a rifle and ammo. It completes the cycle

If they have been fired it was only to proof them. He has the documentation to prove it. I can't afford one like that.

It got here today. Took about an hour to get the worst of the cosmoline out of it. The bore is dark but smooth and has sharp rifling. The stock is not too good of a shape but it is serviceable. Hope to shoot it in a day or too and will let you know how it shoots. If I can get a cast load to shoot in it, I may deer hunt with it this year as it only has a 20" barrel. It would make a good brush gun.

I scarfed up several Mausers back when J&G was selling them cheap. Turned out to be a good investment. Although I don't get near as much for the Turk Mausers the Czech BRNO's and Yugo K98's (not the M-48) paid off very handsomely as horse trading goods. Best I did was getting a S&W Model 15 in a straight across trade for a degreased and touched up BRNO I bought for about $80.00.

Once the Nagants dry up as the surplus Mausers and Brit Enfields have. Prices will go crazy. So the answer to the OP's title. You will never accumulate enough and it is almost like money in the bank earning interest.
