I had read someplace that the R&D out at RCBS/ATK was trying to come up with a replacement for the 505 scale - this might have been a prototype?Robert

It would sure be nice to see it assembled, not just the photocopied photo.
What does the pointer point at?
    Interesting for sure.

I would definitely remember if I had ever seen something like that. A very intriguing design. Any more pics?

No other photos except the dark green paper box typical of the late 60s and 70s.

The pointer index line is on the right hand of the scale. You can see it in the box.

EDG where did you find that? You have the first RCBS scale from 1955/56. It was very short lived as it does not work all that well. Redding tried the same design in 1947 and replaced it 8 months later as they could not make the design work.
Top one is Redding, bottom is RCBS.

All I found was the photo on an auction site.
The would be seller claims they were never marketed.
I know I have never seen a photo or even and add before.

Once again, thanks for the photo, Pressman.
    Now it makes sense.
    Maybe more complicated than necessary?

I see this is listed now on a certain "auction" site. They started the bids @ $500

Took the words and thoughts right out of my mind. How about putting it together and posting a photo of the scale??

Totally insane unless you are collector with a fetish for stuff like that.
I have been reloading since about 1969 and I have never seen one or an add for one.
I walked through gun shows for 40 years and never saw one.
The guy that rides a flaming chariot pulled by unicorns must own it.

Before I would bid that kind of nonsense, I would want to see what I am buying.

The seller needs a pic of the scale itself!

Never saw one before. I would email the photo directly to RCBS with a request for information. They are very cooperative at RCBS....
