$22.22/lb, not exactly what I'd call a bargain compared to the 8lb @ 153.15 I got from MidSouth not long ago (19.14/lb) but that's JMHO. I can get it @ LGS here $24.95/lb no hazmat, no state sales tax w/VA disability card.
An old Cherokee was teaching his grandson about life. "Inside me two wolves fight," he told the boy.
"One is evil - he is anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity, resentment, lies, false pride, and ego. The other is good - he is joy, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, generosity, truth and faith. The same fight is inside you - and every other person, too."
The grandson thought for a minute and asked,"Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."

Reminds me of the first "keg" of Hodgdon 4831 I bought.

    50 pounds for around $25.

Don't remember the exact price but I shared it with my buddies for 50 cents a pound.

Yes,by my figuring the container must weigh 1095 lbs. the OOPSman is really going to enjoy delivering that.

I thought the DOT imposed a 8lb individual container limit on smokeless powder for shipping. Why are we not seeing more powders in larger containers like this if it's legal?

If memory serves correctly, as long as the individual containers are under 8 pounds no hazmat placards are required on the trucks and the drivers don't have to have the appropriate endorsement on their CDL. Bigger than 8 is legal to ship, just more bravo sierra is involved.

I'm not directing sarcasm at you Kilroy, just the scenario, But I guess that explains all the 28.50 haz mat fees I've paid getting 8 lb jugs delivered to the house, " bunch of crooks", If they don't need placards or a Dot endorsement on their license to ship / handle / transport a 8 lb er of smokeless , then why are they charging a haz mat on it?

Because they can. That's why. If it is delivered by any of the trucking companies there is no charge. FedEx an UPS are they ones that are doing the hazmat charges. Everyone needs to pressure the dealers to tell UPS and FEDEX to go to hell on the hazmat fees.

I worked for a company that shipped hazardous materials every day. We shipped stuff through every carrier. NONE of them charged the hazmat fee. All it was was paperwork that was handed to the driver.
