I have a couple of 44 Rem Mag barrels for my Contender. The 10" shoot great! The 8" not so much. Yours appears to be the cat's meow.

One thing I noticed in my particular barrel , the lands in the bore appears to be thicker and heavier than some of my other barrels. One thing is for certain , this one is a SHOOTER !

I bought my first Contender a long time ago, a 14" .44 magnum, and I still have it. Recoil is stiff with heavy loads, heavy enough to break the first scope I put on it (Nikon), but it shoots well with just about any load.

I haven't shot it in a while, but your pics have inspired me to dig it out and do some blasting.

Friend of mine had one of those back in the late 70's, it was a hoot to shoot! I didn't have quite enough beef to be able to put them all into one ragged hole like that. Dang nice shooting there.

I'd say that is a keeper.

I own a 454 Casull , however in a single shot T/C Super, 14" barrel, the .44 Mag. with the right loads is still a powerhouse round.

Probably all the handgun that I'll ever need for white tail deer here in Alabama.

Looks like the mild charge of Unique with that Keith boolit was just the ticket! Great shooting!

You can not beat a contender. I know I have a real addiction to them.

My 10" is a keeper too. I keep thinking that I should get another 10" barrel so I can keep this current one with irons as it is and slap a scope on the other one, but this one keeps me busy enough as it is. If you can do that at 25yds, I'd kinda like to see what you can do at 50, or maybe 100 if you're up for it.
I passed my last psych eval, how bout you?

I love the 10 in barrels. I have them in 256, 45 colt and 44 mag. The 44 is a real head turner in indoor ranges lol.

I used to shoot silhouettes with my TC 44-14". From 180 to 320 grain bullets, it is very accurate. The only modification I've added to the barrel was an 11 deg. crown.

Looking at getting one that has a 10" .45 Colt and a 10" .30-30 barrel. Looks like way too much fun! A .44 barrel will have to be on the to get list as well!

Not one bit! Lol. The price seems right though. The frame with the two 10" barrels for $500

I have several caliber barrels for mine as well. I haven't done much with them since I started casting however being I am still playing with the revolvers.

With the J-words though they all punch very tight groups out further than I have business shooting them. The 7x30 has turned in some around 1.5" out to 250yds using the 140gr BT's, and the 30-30 AI isn't far behind with plain ol factory loads either.

I have a couple of molds for a couple of calibers, I just need to get started with them, just haven't gotten there yet.

I will say however that the MP HG #503 is a REAL winner in my 14" barrel with what little test shooting I have done with it as well as his 432-640. I just need to dial them in a little bit and they are done.

    Later,
    Mike / TX
