Got the call from the school.....again.

So you may recall the short lived spectacle that was Kiera walking along a bicycle stand the result of which was a dislocated elbow? Well, today was Abby's turn.

I'm just ordering my coffee at the airport terminal on my lunch time walk when Sheryl calls. The school had called; Abby is in sick bay after a fall. I get the coffee, walk back to work and drive to the school. Kiera was with her and doing well. Abby's wrist was swollen. I took her to the local clinic and after xrays it was concluded she had a fractured arm; not broken due to her youth but requiring a cast. Here is the result:

She was so brave. No pain meds. Hard core wee girl. Plaster cast for a week then a coloured fibreglass cast for the school production next week.

Hope she has a speedy recovery. Little girls sure have a way of wrapping Daddy around their little finger don't they!

I see my one daughter breaking some bone, just not hers. She is my little princess but she won't take any garbage from anybody.

BTW it looks like you must have been just out of arms reach when you took the pics or she would have had the camera.

Well, you didn't expect her to be outdone by her sister did you? Hope she gets well soon.

That's gonna put a hurtin' on her groups from the crickett! LOL!

Kids are tough though. I'd still crying around if it'd been my arm.

I do have to wonder, what's going on with the 70's era psychedelic shag carpet she's got under her arm????

Jeff, I've said it before and will say it again, you have cute kids. I am sorry they got hurt, but am glad it was not worse. Having said that, I have just got to ask.... Which parent do the girls get the tendency to crash and burn from?

A kiss and a Band-Aid works wonders. These things are like the scratches on our gunstocks.... it gives them character. You have tough girls... and they are cute too!

Hate to see a frown on a little cutie-pie's face. Mommy needs to bake something special and Daddy needs to invest a little extra cuddle time. That will usually take some of the sting away.

These times will pass and it will be something else equally devastating. I know you do, but you need to cherish these times. I remember when our oldest fell off the monkey bars and broke his arm at third grade at the ripe old age of 8. He is now 45 and I won't go into details about what is happening in his life, but it never ends.

I thought you guys with girls had it easy. Sounds as if they aren't all that different than boys.

Took my daughter to a school outing at a roller rink (roller skates). Watched her change from conventional skates to in-line skates then proceed to break her wrist. Almost as bad as falling out of bed and breaking her thumb. Watching her break bones was no where as bad as watching her be a good soccer goalie. Officials don't do enough to protect goalies. Many players, in my opinion, should have gotten red cards.
