    LARGE scale brass tumbling!

Could you imagine tumbling 55 gallons worth at a time!

Check this out! Found this as I was browsing the web the other day. A bit expensive at around $1200 but only $400 more then the $800 large Stainless Tumbler set up. Sure you still got to by the media but..... probably one step up from a cement mixer although a cement mixer is probably cheaper....

Check out the video at the bottom of the link too.

now this is a tumbler"!! I couldn't afford to buy the media for either setup much less the tumbler itself!! I guess you could say the cement mixer would be much cheaper.

I always thought those portable cement mixers might make good brass tumblers, here's one from HF for $199

Been cleaning brass in a HF mixer for years. The one with a poly drum works great with citric acid on large loads of any brass. I never tried adding NuFinish with the Dawn and citric, but works great before the final rinse.
quickly dried brass, stayed bright for years.

We have those in the machine shop for holding drums of coolant, way oil, and machine oil. The construction is pretty simple and could probably be done with a bit of angle iron and some large casters. Fill the drum, set it in place, and hire a couple of the illegals crossing the border to keep the drum spinning and you are all set! You could, of course, mount a low speed motor for the spinning duties for more reliable operation.

WOW! Awesome tumblers. Just goes to show you if you can think something up.... chances are it has already be done. Here I thought 55 gallons worth was impressive.... HA! doesn't even compare to that welded set up. I think if I had to do it again I would look into a cement mixer, I still might!

Get the Bigg Dawg double tumbler set up for SS cleaning and a Lowes cement mixer for your corncob/NU-Finish final polish.

You'll be able to run through brass pretty fast. I know with my single drum Bigg Dawg ss tumbler would get 1,000 lbs of brass clean in a hurry and was bullet proof.

I'm talking dingy government range brass to like new clean in 1 hour and 45 minutes. No having to run two cycles, change water half way through, etc. Major SS brass cleaning, Bigg Dawg tumblers are the right tool for the job.

What can I say? I cleaned and sold over 7,000 lbs of brass last year using my Bigg Dawg and was a very satisfied customer.

Yeah, I heard that. I've got one myself. Twenty pounds of brass and 25 pounds of media.

I use a 4.5 cubic foot poly drum mixer from Lowe's. Picked it up with a military/first responder discount for $179. Works awesome for several thousand rounds of brass at a time. Stainless pins, dawn, lemi-shine and water has them looking better than new. I also use it with dry media when it's to cold and don't feel like dealing with the water.

When everyone was wanting brass, I spent my first day off going to ranges to buy it, next day running through my sorter, next day cleaning and day 4 packaging and shipping. Then it was back to work.

I have used a poly drum cement mixer for over 25 years it sits in my back carport under roof and between me and my 5 sons and daughter in laws we have probably shot enough brass to fill a 55 ft trailer.

I thought the coolest part of that drum roller BT linked was the easy way the drum was loaded on the roller.
